India added a record 27 GW of solar capacity in the first half of 2026, extending the sector’s growth momentum as demand strengthened, manufacturing scaled up, and project commissioning accelerated.
The rapidly expanding renewable energy capacity has unlocked a wave of opportunities across the solar value chain, from manufacturers and developers to product suppliers and distributors.
Clean energy capacity adoption in the commercial and industrial segment has steadily increased over the years, thanks to the promise of stable electricity supply at tariffs lower than those offered by distribution companies.
Mercom India is hosting a Renewable Energy Buyer and Seller Meet on August 20, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, bringing renewable energy buyers and product and service providers to the same platform.
At the event, renewable energy buyers can get a peek at cutting-edge product ranges and upcoming demand and market trends. For sellers, the platform will enable them to network with buyers and market their products and services.
Registration for the event will be open from 9.30 AM to 10.30 AM.
After the inaugural session, a panel discussion on ‘Building a Robust Regional Supply Chain Ecosystem’ will be held from 11 AM to 11.45 AM. The discussion will feature Bharat Singh TN, Director – Sales & Marketing at Ningbo Deye New Energy, and T. Ramesh Babu, EVP – Sales & Marketing at Metalkraft.
The audience can look forward to hearing panelists discuss the importance of regional sourcing in reducing dependence on imports, lowering costs, and improving project timelines. A stronger supply ecosystem for the sector can go a long way in supporting local manufacturing, creating jobs, developing technical capabilities, and giving India’s clean energy sector a global edge.
The second panel discussion, ‘Emerging Opportunities in the Distributed and Large-Scale Project Segments’, will be held from 12.10 PM to 12.55 PM. The discussion will feature Mayank Sharma, Senior Director for Sales at Nextpower, as one of the speakers.
The panelists will draw on their experience to highlight potential avenues in distributed and large-scale project segments and how stakeholders can leverage them.
The discussion will be followed by a networking lunch, where attendees can interact with industry peers, technology providers, innovators, and potential business partners.
The event will help clean energy companies expand their network and build connections that could translate into long-term business partnerships and greater brand visibility.
