India added 1.3 GW of wind power capacity in the second quarter (Q2) of calendar year 2026, down 15% from the previous quarter and 18% from the same period last year, according to Mercom India Research.
India’s energy storage pipeline crossed 110 GWh across the under-development and pre-construction stages, according to data from the Mercom India Renewable Energy Project Tracker. The pipeline includes battery energy storage systems and pumped storage projects.
NTPC Renewable Energy announced the winners of its auction to supply modules for its upcoming 1 GW solar projects in the Lalitpur and Chitrakoot districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Terra Clean, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, invited bids for land aggregation for a 300 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar project in Andhra Pradesh. The last date to submit bids is August 12, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India invited bids for the installation, testing, and commissioning of a 45.6 MW wind power project at Ramagiri in the Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh. The last date to submit bids is August 19. The bids will be opened on the following day.
Bangalore Metallurgical commissioned a 5.5 MW ground-mounted solar project under the open access model to reduce electricity costs at its facility in Chitradurga, Karnataka. The project was developed by Candi Solar and installed by Integrum.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing company Kilitch Healthcare India is among the healthcare firms that have leveraged rooftop systems to slash their electricity costs and make more judicious use of their resources. The company has commissioned a 1.25 MW rooftop solar project at its manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Dindori, Maharashtra. The project is expected to yield savings of around ₹1.25 million (~$12,980.5) per month, and an estimated ₹15 million (~$155,766) per year.
Electric vehicle sales in India reached 837,453 units in Q2 of 2026, a year-over-year (YoY) increase of 52.3% over 549,900 units recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
