The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission approved the billing procedure for the implementation of the smart prepaid metering system for government consumers availing electricity supply at the low tension (LT) level. The Commission permitted Kerala State Electricity Board to adopt the proposed billing procedures for LT government consumers under Phase I of the smart prepaid metering rollout.

The Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 3 MW solar project at Yapaladinni village in the Raichur district for one year. The scope of work covers the O&M of all equipment installed at the solar project. Maintenance of foundation structures for all equipment, minor repairs, cleaning of solar modules, the control room, and the administrative building is also included in the contract.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs raised the permissible equity investment limit for Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) in its subsidiaries to ₹75 billion (~$825.25 million) per subsidiary, up from ₹50 billion (~$550.17 million). However, POWERGRID’s investments in its subsidiaries must not exceed 15% of its net worth.

Lineage Power, a material subsidiary of Pace Digitek, received an order worth ₹1.58 billion (~$17.39 million) from Reliance Industries for the supply of Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery packs. The order involves the supply of Li-ion battery packs with a technical configuration of 48V, 15S1P, and a capacity of 314 AH.

Mumbai-based battery solutions provider Coulomb Litech raised ₹200 million (~$2.21 million) in its latest seed round, aiming to accelerate the electrification of medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles through its fast-charging battery technology. The funding will be used to develop Made-in-India, high-performance battery solutions designed for the toughest use cases.

Waaree Energies received an order to supply 500 MW of solar modules from a domestic independent power producer (IPP). The company will supply the modules during the financial year 2026–27, aligning the execution timeline with the customer’s project commissioning schedule. The modules will be deployed in grid-connected solar power generation projects owned and operated by the IPP.

On the face of it, the U.S. Supreme Court’s judgment striking down Donald Trump’s sweeping trade tariffs may have come as a net positive for clean energy, but uncertainty looms large as the White House can still impose duties using other laws. The U.S. relies on imports for many renewable energy components, such as solar cells and modules, even as domestic manufacturing capacity is rapidly ramping up.
