The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) approved the power sale agreement signed between the Kerala State Electricity Board and the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the procurement of 200 MW of solar power, coupled with a 100 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage system.

Bids will be opened the same day.

The Military Engineer Services invited bids for the repair and maintenance of a 1 MW solar power project at Leimakhong Military Station in Manipur. The estimated contract value is ₹2 million (~$20,840). The last day to submit bids is August 17, 2026. Bids will be opened the next day.

Energy solutions provider ENGIE India secured approximately ₹9.82 billion (~$102.29 million) in financing for its 250 MW Khaba Solar Project in Barmer, Rajasthan. The project is being developed through Khaba Renewable Energy Private, a wholly owned subsidiary of ENGIE.

AKME Fintrade (India), a Reserve Bank of India-regulated non-banking financial company, partnered with Finayo to launch AKME GreenX, a green finance platform supporting electric mobility and renewable energy financing.

Emerge Renewables announced the successful furnace light-up of its 300 metric tons-per-day solar glass manufacturing facility in the Keshwana Industrial Area in Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan. The facility can produce 2.5 GW of solar glass annually, with the thicknesses ranging from 1.8 mm to 5 mm.

Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy reported revenue of ₹38.19 billion (~$397.94 million) in the first quarter of the financial year 2027, a 22.5% year-over-year increase from ₹31.17 billion (~$324.79 million) in the prior quarter. Profit after tax declined 5.9% YoY to ₹3.05 billion (~$31.78 million) from ₹3.24 billion (~$33.76 million).

Global power generation from renewables is expected to grow by more than 8% in 2026, pushing its share in the electricity generation mix to 37% by 2027, up from 33% in 2025, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). In its latest Electricity Mid-Year Update, the IEA stated that electricity generation from renewables is set to overtake coal-fired output in 2026.

U.S.-based power producer NextEra Energy reported operating revenue of $7.53 billion for Q2 of 2026, a 12.4% YoY increase from $6.7 billion. Revenue missed analysts’ expectations by approximately $640 million.
