The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has issued a standard outlining the emission thresholds that must be met for the hydrogen produced in the country to be classified as ‘green.’ The Green Hydrogen Standard for India provides a definition of green hydrogen or hydrogen produced using renewable sources through electrolysis-based and biomass-based production methods. Renewable energy, in this case, also includes the one generated from renewable sources and is stored in an energy storage system or banked with the grid in accordance with the current regulations.
