Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, received the letter of award from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation to set up a 150 MW solar project in Solapur. With this, the total renewables capacity, including pipeline projects of TPREL, has reached 5.79 GW. Out of the total installed capacity of 3.88 GW, solar accounts for 2.95 GW and wind for 928 MW. Another 1.91 GW of projects are under various stages of implementation. The project will be commissioned within 18 months from the date of the signing of the power purchase agreement.
