Funding and M&A Roundup: MaxSolar Secures $176 Million from CIP

MaxSolar, a German-based solar and storage project developer, has secured €155 million (~$176 million) in HoldCo debt financing from funds managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a global fund manager and investor in the European energy transition. CIP’s Green Credit strategy invests in renewable energy projects and companies driving the development of modern energy infrastructure in OECD markets.

Reverion, a Germany-based developer of container-based, reversible solid oxide fuel cell power plants, has raised $175 million in a Series B funding round to expand production of its reversible fuel cell power plants. Kembara, Mundi Ventures’ European scale-up fund, led the funding round. Allianz, KfW Capital, Aurum Impact, and Carbon Equity joined as new investors. Existing investors Extantia, Energy Impact Partners, UVC Partners, European Innovation Council Fund, alfa8, and Possible Ventures also participated.

Orb Energy, a provider of rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems and financing solutions, has secured a $2 million investment from KawiSafi Ventures to expand its commercial and industrial (C&I) solar business across East Africa. The capital is earmarked for Orb’s Africa business and will support its project pipeline in Kenya and other markets in the region. Orb’s Africa operations are headquartered in Nairobi.

Renewable energy operation and maintenance company Inox Green Energy has approved the allocation of 18.11 million equity shares through a qualified institutions placement to eligible buyers. The company’s board of directors approved the allocation of 18,110,473 equity shares at an issue price of ₹165.65 (~$1.73) per share, including a premium of ₹155.65 (~$1.62) per share. The shares have a face value of ₹10 (~$0.1) each. The placement amounts to approximately ₹3 billion (~$31.3 million).

MET Group, an integrated energy company active in natural gas and renewables, has acquired a majority stake in Greece-based Zephiros Energy Trading through its MET Sales and Trading segment. Zephiros Energy Trading manages Zephiros Group’s aggregation activities in Greece and is a licensed renewable energy aggregator. It combines aggregation with energy trading and provides technical, operational, and commercial support for wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
