Grenergy, a Spanish clean energy producer, has completed the sale of Gabriela, the fourth phase of its Oasis de Atacama energy storage platform in Chile, to infrastructure investment manager CVC DIF for an enterprise value of $475 million.

Gabriela comprises 272 MW of installed solar capacity and 1,100 MWh of energy storage. The project has entered operations, triggering the completion of the transaction announced in September 2025.

The project is backed by a 15-year hybrid power purchase agreement. Grenergy will continue providing operation and maintenance services for the assets for five years following the transaction.

Gabriela forms part of Oasis de Atacama, Grenergy’s energy storage platform in Chile, which has a total storage capacity of 14.1 GWh.

Construction of Gabriela was financed through a $324 million green loan provided by BNP Paribas, Natixis, Société Générale, Scotiabank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bank of America, BBVA, JPMorgan, KfW IPEX, Rabobank, and Instituto de Crédito Oficial.

David Ruiz de Andrés, Chairman and CEO of Grenergy, said, ” We are delighted to have completed this transaction with CVC DIF and look forward to continuing our partnership on future projects. This deal highlights the quality of our assets and validates the success of the hybrid solar-plus-storage model we pioneered in Chile, which we are now scaling in Spain.”

The transaction follows Grenergy’s sale of the first phase of Oasis de Atacama to ContourGlobal, a KKR portfolio company, in December 2024.

According to Grenergy, the sales of the first and fourth phases together represent approximately 25% of the overall Oasis de Atacama platform and have a combined enterprise value of approximately $1.5 billion.

According to Mercom’s recently released 1H 2026 Funding and M&A for Energy Storage report, project acquisition activity accelerated sharply during the first half of 2026, with approximately 14 GW of battery storage capacity changing hands in 63 transactions, compared with 6.1 GW in 31 transactions during the same period in 2025.

In July, Sonnedix, an independent solar power producer, announced the acquisition of a 260 MW battery storage portfolio in Tuscany, Italy, from Sphera Energy. The portfolio comprises two adjacent standalone battery storage projects.
