In an interview on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on July 1 and 2, Bhupendra Singh Rawat, CEO at DhaSh PV Technologies, said that while India has made significant progress in module and cell capacity, focus is now shifting toward ancillary manufacturing. Key components such as junction boxes, connectors, and cables are critical to the 30-year warranty of solar modules. Ensuring reliability requires rigorous in-house testing for thermal, electrical, and mechanical stability. He noted that domestic manufacturing of components such as junction boxes has reached 153 gigawatts of installed capacity, and the industry is scaling up production of interconnect busbars and other materials to meet domestic demand.
