Independent power producer JSW Energy reported consolidated revenue of ₹54.37 billion (~$564.59 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year (FY) 2027, remaining largely flat from ₹54.11 billion (~$561.89 million) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased 2% year-over-year (YoY) to ₹31.03 billion (~$322.22 million) from ₹30.57 billion (~$317.45 million). The EBITDA margin improved to 57% from 56%.

Profit after tax (PAT) declined 36% YoY to ₹5.33 billion (~$55.35 million) from ₹8.36 billion (~$86.81 million). The decline was primarily due to higher finance costs and depreciation. Finance costs rose to ₹15.19 billion (~$157.74 million) from ₹13.06 billion (~$135.62 million), while depreciation increased to ₹8.90 billion (~$92.42 million) from ₹7.39 billion (~$76.74 million).

Diluted earnings per share declined to ₹2.57 (~$0.027) from ₹4.25 (~$0.044).

Net generation fell 5% YoY to 12,868 million units (MUs) from 13,494 MUs. Renewable generation declined 3% to 4,840 MUs from 4,990 MUs, primarily due to weak hydrology affecting hydro generation despite plant availability.

The company had added 1,081 MW of renewable energy capacity as of July 8, 2026, comprising 442 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 381 MW of hybrid, and 150 MW of hydropower capacity. The 150 MW Tidong hydropower project was fully commissioned on June 12, ahead of its October 2026 schedule.

JSW Energy’s total installed capacity increased to 14,535 MW following these additions. Renewable energy accounted for 61% of the installed portfolio.

The company’s installed capacity comprised 3,125 MW of wind, 2,275 MW of solar, 1,696 MW of hybrid, 1,781 MW of hydropower, and 5,658 MW of thermal power capacity.

During the quarter, the company operationalized its wind blade manufacturing facility at Halol, Gujarat. The facility has an annual manufacturing capacity of 450 blades, sufficient to support approximately 600 MW of wind installations annually.

The company’s battery assembly facility received its first large external order for a 200 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage system and power conversion system. The order was valued at ₹4.44 billion (~$46.08 million).

The company raised ₹40 billion (~$415.37 million) through a qualified institutions placement during the quarter.
