Independent renewable energy producer Juniper Green Energy posted operating revenue of ₹2.91 billion (~$305 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year (FY) 2026-27, up 81% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹1.61 billion (~$169 million).

The revenue increase is attributed to higher operational capacity during the quarter.

Earlier this month, the company went public with its ₹18 billion (~$188.66 million) initial public offering of shares. At the end of the bidding window, the issue was subscribed 6.12 times.

Total income rose to ₹3.24 billion (~$33.98 million), up 79% from ₹2.44 billion (~$25.59 million) the year before.

The company posted a profit of ₹330 million (~$34.6 million), up 54% from ₹220 million (~$23.1 million) the previous year.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the period stood at ₹2.94 billion (~$308 million), up 86% from ₹1.59 billion (~$167 million) the year before.

It generated 944 million units of power during the quarter, up 72% from 548 million units the previous year.

Plant availability for the quarter fell to 98.8% from 99.2% the year before.

Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) improved to 30.2% in Q1 FY27 from 28.2% in Q1 FY26.

Weighted average of CUF for wind projects (192 MW) during the quarter stood at 49.9%; for solar projects (935 MW), it stood at 27.9%

Business Highlights

Juniper Green commissioned ~400 MWh of battery energy storage systems in Q1 FY27 and targets ~4,500 MWh by June 2027 and ~10,000 MWh by March 2028.

It also commissioned 601 MW of renewable energy capacity in Q1 FY 2027 (solar: 458 MW, wind: 143 MW), the highest ever renewable energy capacity commissioned in one quarter.

The company signed a 25-year power purchase agreement on August 26, 2026, with SJVN for a 50 MW FDRE project at ₹4.25 (~$0.0446)/kWh.

The total portfolio as of date is 11,216 MWp, along with 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity.

This month, Juniper was also among the winners of the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction to supply 1 GW of FDRE from interstate transmission system-connected renewable energy projects (FDRE-RTC-Tranche-V).

In April, Juniper began commissioning India’s FDRE project, which integrates 259 MW of solar, 280 MW of wind, and 200 MWh of battery storage across Rajasthan and Gujarat.
