NTPC Green Energy’s Q4 Revenue Rises 47% YoY But Profit Slips
The board approved raising up to ₹50 billion through bonds and debentures

NTPC Green Energy reported revenue from operations of ₹9.13 billion (~$95.4 million) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of the financial year (FY) 2026, a 46.7% year-over-year (YoY) increase from ₹6.22 billion (~$65 million).
The company’s total income rose 25.4% YoY to ₹9.42 billion (~$98.4 million) from ₹7.52 billion (~$78.6 million).
Its operating EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹7.75 billion (~$81.1 million), up 38.4% YoY from ₹5.60 billion (~$58.6 million) a year earlier.
Profit after tax fell 15.5% YoY to ₹1.97 billion (~$20.6 million) from ₹2.33 billion (~$24.4 million).
Earnings per share stood at ₹0.23 (~$0.0024), compared to ₹0.28 (~$0.0029) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
NTPC Green Energy’s consolidated operational capacity reached 10,076 MW as of March 31, 2026, up from 5,902 MW a year earlier.
The company’s portfolio, excluding pipeline capacity, stood at 26,544 MW as of March 31, 2026. This included 9,309 MW of operating solar capacity, 767 MW of operating wind capacity, and 16,468 MW of contracted and awarded capacity. It also had 3,426 MW of pipeline projects.
FY 2026
For FY 2026, NTPC Green Energy reported revenue from operations of ₹28.58 billion (~$298.6 million), up 29.4% from ₹22.10 billion (~$231 million) in FY 2025.
Total income for the year increased 23.1% YoY to ₹30.35 billion (~$317.1 million) from ₹24.66 billion (~$257.7 million).
The company’s operating EBITDA rose 29.1% YoY to ₹24.75 billion (~$258.9 million) in FY 2026 from ₹19.17 billion (~$200.5 million) in FY 2025.
Profit after tax rose 10% YoY to ₹5.21 billion (~$54.5 million) from ₹4.74 billion (~$49.5 million).
Earnings per share for FY 2026 stood at ₹0.62 (~$0.0065), compared to ₹0.67 (~$0.007) a year earlier.
The company said its consolidated generation rose to 14,596 million units in FY 2026 from 6,828 million units in FY 2025. The capacity utilization factor stood at 22.48%, compared to 24.07% a year earlier.
NTPC Green Energy’s board approved raising up to ₹50 billion (~$522.5 million) during FY 2027 through secured or unsecured, redeemable, taxable or tax-free, cumulative or non-cumulative debentures, bonds, or non-convertible debentures in one or more tranches.
The board also approved the incorporation of a joint venture company between NTPC Green Energy and CtrlS Datacenters to develop renewable energy projects. The incorporation is subject to approvals, including from the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management and other statutory authorities.
During FY 2026, the company issued ₹15 billion (~$156.7 million) of unsecured, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable, non-convertible debentures through private placement. The proceeds were meant for capital expenditure, refinancing and recoupment of capital expenditure, financing subsidiaries and joint ventures through inter-corporate loans, and general corporate purposes.
The company said the entire ₹15 billion had been utilized, with no deviation or variation in the use of proceeds.
