New Delhi-based SAEL Industries has commissioned 600 MW of solar power projects in Andhra Pradesh’s YSR Kadapa district.

The projects, SAEL Solar MHP1 and SAEL Solar MHP2, each have a capacity of 300 MW.

SAEL Solar MHP1 achieved commercial operations on January 30, 2026, and SAEL Solar MHP2 on March 13, 2026.

The integrated solar facility spans more than 2,400 acres and was developed with an investment of nearly ₹30 billion (~$310.06 million).

The company said the projects were commissioned in 11 months.

The projects use more than 1.2 million TOPCon bifacial solar modules. Most of the modules were assembled at SAEL’s manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan.

Electricity generated from the projects will be supplied to the national grid under a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India.

The company said the projects are expected to offset nearly 1.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

The projects were executed under SAEL’s engineering, procurement, and construction, and operations and maintenance framework.

The company said the projects were supported by the Andhra Pradesh government and local authorities in facilitating land use, and securing clearances and grid interconnection.

The projects will be formally inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Human Resources Development, Information Technology and Electronics, and Real Time Governance Nara Lokesh on May 22, 2026.

The inauguration comes as Andhra Pradesh implements its Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024. Under the policy, the state aims to attract ₹10 trillion (~$103.84 billion) in investments across renewable energy, storage, green hydrogen, transmission, and manufacturing ecosystems by 2029.

SAEL Industries has 8,299 MWp of contracted and awarded solar and battery storage capacity across India, 3,625 MW of solar module assembly capacity, and 164.9 MW of agri waste-to-energy operations.

Recently, SAEL was among the winners of the Punjab State Power Corporation’s auction to procure 500 MW of solar power from projects located anywhere in the country on a long-term basis.

This January, SAEL commissioned 800 MW of solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat. The company commissioned projects with capacities of 400 MWp and 500 MWp through its subsidiaries, SAEL Solar P4 and SAEL Solar P5, respectively.
