SJVN’s Q4 FY 2026 Revenue Soars 197%, Loss Narrows

Net profit dropped 21.5% for FY 2026

Government-owned power generation company SJVN’s revenue rose 196.7% to ₹14.96 billion (~$156.31 million) in the fourth quarter of the financial year (FY) 2026 from ₹5.04 billion (~$52.66 million) in the same period last year.

Revenue increased due to contributions from newly commissioned solar and thermal assets and the recognition of prior tariff-related income.

Despite higher revenue, the company reported a net loss of ₹1.18 billion (~$12.33 million) in the quarter. The loss, however, narrowed from ₹1.28 billion (~$13.37 million) in the same quarter of the previous year.

Loss per share stood at ₹0.30 (~$0.0031), compared with ₹0.32 (~$0.0033) last year.

Newly operational assets, including the 1,000 MW Bikaner solar project and the 70 MW Dhubri solar project, generated ₹1.11 billion (~$11.60 million) in revenue during the quarter.

Full Year Results

For the full year ended March 31, 2026, SJVN reported revenue of ₹45.28 billion (~$473.10 million), up 47.4% from ₹30.72 billion (~$320.97 million) in the previous year.

Net profit declined 21.5% to ₹6.42 billion (~$67.08 million) in FY 2026 from ₹8.18 billion (~$85.47 million) in FY 2025.

Basic and diluted earnings per share were ₹1.63 (~$0.0170), down from ₹2.08 (~$0.0217) in the previous year.

Cash flows from operating activities declined to ₹18.60 billion (~$194.34 million) from ₹24.83 billion (~$259.43 million).

Net cash used in investing activities was ₹34.81 billion (~$363.71 million), compared with ₹64.30 billion (~$671.83 million) in FY 2025.

Financing activities generated ₹23.85 billion (~$249.19 million), compared with ₹39.39 billion (~$411.56 million) in the previous year.

Closing cash and cash equivalents rose to ₹11 billion (~$114.93 million) from ₹3.37 billion (~$35.21 million).

Business Highlights

During the year, SJVN commissioned solar capacity, including the 1,000 MW Bikaner solar project and the 70 MW Dhubri solar project, in phases. These assets contributed ₹2.54 billion (~$26.54 million) in revenue for the full year.

The company continued to report its operations under a single segment, “generation and sale of power.” It did not provide separate segment or geographical disclosures, as its operations are primarily domestic.

Revenue also included ₹6.71 billion (~$70.11 million) following the receipt of tariff orders.

In Q3, SJVN’s revenue rose to ₹10.81 billion (~$119.22 million) a 61.3% year-over-year increase from ₹6.71 billion (~$74.01 million).
