The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has expanded the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 11,964 MW of solar module capacity

The cumulative module manufacturing capacity under ALMM now stands at 215,522 MW.

Poola Energy, SLR Solar, Veda Solar, and Senses14 Power Solution were the new entrants to the ALMM, accounting for 15 MW, 1,020 MW, 546 MW, and 57 MW, respectively.

Poola Energy, SLR Solar, and Veda Solar were enlisted for TOPCon modules, while Senses14 Power Solution was enlisted for mono PERC modules.

Adani New Industries, Credence Solar Panels, Fujiyama Power Systems, HR Solar Solution, SAEL Solar P6, and RPSG Solvanta (formerly Best Apartment), increased their enlisted capacities by 4,781 MW, 1,796 MW, 1,014 MW, 631 MW, 1,855 MW, and 249 MW, respectively.

The ministry also reduced Sova Solar’s enlisted manufacturing capacity by 79 MW, from 1,368 MW to 1,289 MW.

Recently, MNRE withdrew transitional relief that had allowed certain solar projects delayed for reasons beyond developers’ control to seek exemption from the ALMM requirement. The ministry said pending exemption requests would be examined on a case-by-case basis

As per the MNRE ALMM List-II update dated July 22, 2026, the total domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity stands at 31.76 GW.

In June 2026, MNRE waived the requirement for physical factory inspections for certain higher-wattage solar modules under ALMM. The waiver will apply to models with wattage up to 3% higher than the highest-wattage solar module enlisted in ALMM.

Last year, MNRE proposed expanding the ALMM to ingots and wafers. It announced a seven-day cutoff window after the publication of the initial list of solar wafers to determine project exemptions.
