Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy reported revenue of ₹38.19 billion (~$397.94 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year (FY) 2027, a 22.5% year-over-year increase from ₹31.17 billion (~$324.79 million) in the prior quarter.

Profit after tax declined 5.9% year-over-year (YoY) to ₹3.05 billion (~$31.78 million) from ₹3.24 billion (~$33.76 million).

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization stood at ₹5.95 billion (~$62.00 million), marginally lower than ₹5.99 billion (~$62.42 million) in the corresponding quarter last year. The EBITDA margin narrowed to 15.6% from 19.2%.

At 506 MW, Suzlon recorded its highest-ever first-quarter wind turbine generator deliveries, up 14% YoY from 444 MW. Commissioning more than doubled to 269 MW over the corresponding quarter last year.

The company secured record new orders of approximately 1 GW during the quarter, including development company-led (DevCo) engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders from Tata Power and Waaree Group. DevCo-led EPC orders accounted for 602 MW of Suzlon’s order book during the quarter.

Suzlon’s cumulative order book stood at approximately 6.1 GW, with 84% of the orders coming from public sector undertakings and the commercial and industrial segment. The EPC business accounted for 32% of the company’s order book, up from 22% in Q1 FY 2026.

During the quarter, Suzlon unveiled its S175 5 MW wind turbine platform in India and Europe and secured its first order for the platform in India.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said the S175 5 MW platform had made a strong market debut, and the order book for the S144 3 MW platform continues to gain momentum.

Chief Executive Officer Ajay Kapur said the manufacturing of the S175 platform has been scaled at the Bhuj facility to meet future demand.

Chief Financial Officer Rahul Jain said the company delivered strong revenue growth driven by healthy execution and project deliveries, while EBITDA and PAT margins reflected temporary logistics disruptions arising from geopolitical developments, strategic investments, and changes in project scope and business mix.

Suzlon also doubled the rotor blade manufacturing capacity at its Jaisalmer facility from 630 MW to 1,260 MW by adding two more manufacturing lines. The expanded facility, spread across 30 acres, can manufacture rotor blades for both the S144 and S175 platforms and is expected to generate employment for over 1,200 people. The company also made progress in execution on its 1.2 GW NTPC project in Gujarat.

Suzlon reported revenue of ₹54.68 billion (~$571.89 million) in Q4 FY2026, a 44.9% YoY increase from ₹37.74 billion (~$394.71 million).
