The projects, Blacks Creek Energy Center and Bluebird Solar, together represent a combined 900 MW of solar and storage capacity. The Blacks Creek Energy Center project was acquired from Qcells, a utility-scale solar and energy storage project developer and provider of solar engineering, procurement, and construction services. The Bluebird solar project was acquired from Mission Clean Energy, a utility-scale renewable energy and storage developer.
European Energy, a renewable energy project developer, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/european-energy-secures-44m-financing-for-hybrid-solar-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> €37.9 million (~$43.89 million) long-term project financing for the development of a hybrid solar and energy storage project in the municipality of Saldus, Latvia. The solar project is also co-owned by European Energy and Sampension. The project consists of a 65 MW solar and a 92 MWh battery energy storage system across approximately 96 hectares.

The project consists of 300 MW of solar energy, along with a 243 MW/486 MWh battery. It is backed by Octopus Australia funds, which include funding from Hostplus, Rest Super, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Westpac Private Bank, and infrastructure company APG.
Enlight Renewable Energy, a renewable energy independent power producer and developer, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/enlight-secures-1-44b-debt-financing-for-snowflake-a-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that its U.S. subsidiary Clēnera Holdings entered into a debt financing agreement for its Snowflake A project located near Holbrook, Arizona. The Snowflake A project combines 600 MW of solar with 1,900 MWh of energy storage. The project is expected to achieve commercial operations by the second half of 2027. Once operational, it will produce enough energy to power nearly 110,000 homes in Arizona.

<a href="https://www.aukera.energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aukera</a>, a Europe-based renewable energy developer and independent power producer, has secured a €60 million (~$70 million) debt facility from Kommunalkredit Austria for the development and construction of its stand-alone battery energy storage project in Romania.
The 250 MW/500 MWh battery storage project, located in Gura Ialomitei, Ialomita County. The project is planned to be delivered in two phases. Phase 1 is currently under construction, and the whole project is expected to reach commercial operation by mid-2026.
Kommunalkredit acted as the sole mandated lead arranger. Clifford Chance Badea acted as the legal counsel for Aukera, while Dentons advised the lender on the transaction.

In October, the company also <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/aukera-secures-16-million-financing-for-two-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> $16 million for its 37.48 MW solar projects located in Germany and <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/aukera-raises-124-million-in-oversubscribed-second-equity-round/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> a $124 million equity round to accelerate its pipeline of over 15 GW of solar, onshore wind, and battery storage projects across Europe.
According to Mercom&#8217;s 9M and Q3 2025 Funding and M&amp;A Report for Energy Storage <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/product/9m-and-q3-2025-funding-and-ma-report-for-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, announced Energy Storage project financing increased 94% in the first nine months of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024.
Earlier in November 2025, Akaysha Energy, an energy storage project developer, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/akaysha-energy-closes-299-million-1-2-gwh-battery-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> A$460 million (~$299 million) in project financing to fund construction of its Elaine battery energy storage system in Victoria, Australia.

Aukera Secures $70 Million for 250 MW/500 MWh Battery Storage Project

Lightsource bp, a renewable energy project developer, and Pinnacle Financial Partners <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/lightsource-bp-secures-97-9-m-tax-equity-financing-187-mw-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the closing of $97.9 million tax equity financing for the 187 MW Peacock Solar project located in San Patricio County, Texas. The partnership marks their second transaction and Pinnacle’s first production tax credit equity investment, reflecting the growing momentum in renewable energy financing in the U.S.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a fund manager within greenfield energy investments, on behalf of its fund Copenhagen Infrastructure IV, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/cip-sells-50-stake-in-coalburn-2-battery-project-to-aip-management/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into an agreement to divest a 50% ownership stake in the Coalburn 2 project to funds managed by AIP Management, an investor that specializes in energy and decarbonization infrastructure. This portfolio also includes the under-construction 140 MW solar project in Bhawad, scheduled for commissioning this year.

The round saw participation from existing investors, which included Aukera&#8217;s majority shareholders AtlasInvest and Reggeborgh. Several new global investors also participated in the round, including SFPIM (Société Fédérale de Participations et d&#8217;Investissement / Federale Participatie- en Investeringsmaatschappij), Belgium&#8217;s sovereign wealth fund.
With the amount raised, the company plans to accelerate its pipeline of more than 15 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, and battery storage projects in its core markets: the U.K., Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Romania.
The company states that it has over 8 GW of BESS now integrated into its pipeline, supporting grid stability and energy flexibility across key European markets.

According to Mercom&#8217;s 1H 2025 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/1h-and-q2-2025-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, VC funding activity decreased 7% year-over-year, with $2.5 billion raised in 32 deals in 1H 2025 compared to $2.7 billion from 29 deals in the first half of 2024.
In August, CrossBoundary Energy, a developer, owner, and operator of distributed renewable energy, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/crossboundary-energy-secures-impact-fund-denmark/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a $40 million equity-like capital investment from Impact Fund Denmark. The funding will help the company expand its portfolio of clean energy projects in Africa.
