Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), a China-based battery manufacturing and technology company, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/battery-manufacturer-catl-raises-5-billion-from-share-placement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the completion of a share placement of 62,385,000 new H shares in Hong Kong on April 30, 2026, raising HK$39.12 billion (~$5 billion) after satisfying all conditions under the placing agreement. The new H shares were allotted and issued at HK$628.20 ($80.15) per placing share. The placement raised gross proceeds of about HK$39,190.26 million (~$5 billion).
CMBlu Energy, an organic solid flow battery technology developer, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/flow-battery-company-cmblu-closes-59-million-series-c-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the completion of a €50 million (~$58.5 million) initial close of its Series C funding round, bringing the company’s valuation to over a €1 billion (~$1.17 billion). The round included participation from Samsung Ventures, alongside existing investors, including STRABAG SE. CMBlu said the proceeds will support manufacturing scale-up and early commercial deployments in Europe and the U.S.
ROSI, a France-based solar module recycling company, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/rosi-raises-23-million-expand-solar-module-recycling-europe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> over €20 million (~$23 million) in funding to support its expansion across Europe. The funding includes a Series B round along with French and European grants. The company said the capital will support the rollout of its industrial projects, including a planned facility in Teruel, Spain. New international investors and existing shareholders participated in the round.
Eurowind Energy, a Denmark-based renewable energy project developer, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/blackstone-to-invest-up-to-2-billion-in-eurowind-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into a definitive agreement with Blackstone Infrastructure for an investment of up to €2 billion ($2.34 billion). The investment will give Blackstone an initial 24.7% ownership stake in Eurowind Energy. Blackstone will become a co-owner, while Eurowind Energy’s founders, along with energy and telecommunications group Norlys, will retain majority ownership.
Stem, a provider of AI-enabled clean energy software and services, has <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/stem-acquires-solar-monitoring-software-assets-from-raicoon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> the software assets of raicoon, a company specializing in automated fault detection and event management for solar asset performance. The transaction value was not disclosed. raicoon’s software analyzes asset-level data to detect performance anomalies and surface actionable insights.
Skycorp Solar Group, a manufacturer of solar cables and solar connectors, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/skycorp-solar-acquire-remaining-56-stake-nanjing-cesun-power/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a share acquisition agreement to acquire the remaining 56% equity interest in Nanjing Cesun Power, a provider of turnkey solar project services. Before the acquisition, the company held a 44% equity interest in Nanjing Cesun through its wholly owned subsidiary, PN Sunshine. After the transaction closes, Skycorp will hold and consolidate 100% of Nanjing Cesun.
Inox Solar Americas, a renewable energy platform of Inox Clean Energy, is set to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/inox-clean-energy-to-acquire-ningbo-boways-us-solar-unit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquire</a> 100% equity in Boviet Solar Technology (North Carolina), the U.S.-based solar module manufacturing subsidiary of Ningbo Boway Alloy Material. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, according to the company. The North Carolina facility has an annual solar module manufacturing capacity of approximately 3 GW. The agreement includes the full transfer of ownership of the entity.
Enviro Infra Engineers’ wholly owned subsidiary, EIE Renewables, has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enviro-infras-subsidiary-to-acquire-suyog-urja-in-33-million-deal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a share purchase agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Suyog Urja through a phased transaction. Under the agreement, EIE Renewables will initially acquire a 51% stake in Suyog Urja. It will acquire the remaining 49% stake over 27 months. The acquisition is expected to be completed on or before July 31, 2028.

The round included participation from Samsung Ventures, alongside existing investors, including STRABAG SE.
The company develops SolidFlow, a non-lithium, long-duration energy storage technology, designed to deliver ten hours or more of dispatchable energy. According to CMBlu, the system uses non-flammable, water-based electrolytes and proprietary solid energy storage materials.
CMBlu said the proceeds will support manufacturing scale-up and early commercial deployments in Europe and the U.S.
“Our SolidFlow technology is redefining energy storage by combining inherent safety with a streamlined permitting pathway – enabling faster, more predictable deployment at scale,” said Constantin Eis, CEO of CMBlu. “That speed to power, paired with resilient, localized supply chains, is critical as data centers and industrial customers advance their business needs and race to meet surging demand. In 2023, the company <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/organic-flow-battery-company-cmblu-energy-secures-105-million-financing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> €100 million (~$105 million) equity investment from globally operating technology and construction group STRABAG SE to scale up its battery technology production.
Founded in 2014, the company is scaling its manufacturing operations through an automated gigafactory in Alzenau, Germany, with additional facilities planned in the U.S. and Greece. CMBlu said its technology uses recyclable materials and avoids foreign-entity-of-concern supply chains for customers in the U.S.
According to Mercom’s Annual and Q4 2025 Funding and M&amp;A Report for Energy Storage <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/annual-q4-2025-funding-ma-report-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, VC funding in the Energy Storage sector in 2025 increased 30% YoY, to $4.8 billion across 75 deals, up from $3.7 billion across 84 deals in 2024.

PMI Electro Mobility Solutions, an electric bus manufacturer based in Delhi National Capital Region, has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/electric-bus-manufacturer-investment-from-piramal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a ₹2.5 billion (~$150.29 million) investment from Piramal Alternatives through the Performing Credit Fund in the form of convertible securities to advance green mobility efforts, facilitating innovation, technological integration and business expansion. ICICI Securities was the advisor to PMI Electro Mobility for the fundraising.
Omnidian, a provider of solar asset management solutions, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/solar-asset-management-company-omnidian/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> a $25 million funding round which saw participation from existing investors Activate Capital, WIND Ventures, Avista Development,  Evergy Ventures, National Grid Partners, Congruent Ventures, Blue Bear Capital, and new investor HSBC Asset Management. Part of the capital funding will be used to further technical innovation to give clients improved transparency into portfolio performance, job site status, and active remediations.
Circu Li-ion, a battery recycling startup, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/battery-recycling-startup-cicu-raises-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> €8.5 million (~$9 million) in seed funding. The funding includes €4.5 million (~$4.8 million) in equity, which was led by BonVenture, and additional backing from an undisclosed investor. The investment is complemented by €4 million (~$4.2 million) in grants from the European Innovation Council Accelerator and collaborations with recyclers and OEMs. The funding will be utilized to expand the company’s AI-driven battery upcycling solution and develop a battery recycling data repository.
Inlyte Energy, a developer of batteries for grid-scale energy storage, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/inlyte-energy-secures-8-million-seed-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> $8 million in seed funding to develop the first generation of its grid batteries made with iron and table salt. The funding round was by At One Ventures with participation from First Spark Ventures, Valo Ventures, TechEnergy Ventures, Climate Capital, Anglo American, and others. The company claims that its batteries will have the lowest cost once manufacturing is scaled; iron and salt are also locally produced in almost all parts of the world and avoid external supply chains.
