					</table><p><a href="https://www.eiel.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Enviro Infra Engineers</a>’ wholly owned subsidiary, <a href="https://www.eierenew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EIE Renewables</a>, has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire a 100% stake in <a href="https://suyogurja.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Suyog Urja</a> through a phased transaction.</p>
<p>Under the agreement, EIE Renewables will initially acquire a 51% stake in Suyog Urja. It will acquire the remaining 49% stake over 27 months.</p>
<p>The acquisition is expected to be completed on or before July 31, 2028.</p>
<p>The transaction is valued at approximately ₹3.11 billion (~$32.89 million).</p>
<p>Suyog Urja, incorporated in 2008, develops renewable energy infrastructure, particularly in the western and southern regions of India. The company provides infrastructure solutions across the renewable energy project lifecycle, including development and execution support for wind and solar projects.</p>
<p>As of March 31, 2025, the company reported a turnover of ₹1.72 billion (~$18.19 million) and a net worth of ₹303.4 million (~$3.21 million).</p>
<p>The acquisition is not a related-party transaction, and no promoter group entities have an interest in the deal.</p>
<p>Enviro Infra said the acquisition will strengthen its renewable portfolio and support its entry into the wind segment.</p>
<p>Suyog Urja has worked on wind projects across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>Suyog Urja has commissioned more than 500 MW of renewable energy projects and has an order book of approximately ₹6.45 billion (~$68.22 million). Its portfolio includes projects executed for Tata Power Saurya, Vibrant Energy, and Suzlon Energy.</p>
<p>Suyog Urja has become a subsidiary of EIE Renewables following the initial stake acquisition.</p>
<p>Recently, EIE Renewables <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/eie-renewables-to-acquire-150-mwh-battery-storage-project-in-bihar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into an agreement to acquire PRA Bihar Bess, a special-purpose vehicle of Barbrik Projects, set up to implement a 37.5 MW/150 MWh battery energy storage project in Bihar.</p>
<p>Last year, Enviro Infra Engineers <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enviro-infra-engineers-acquires-vento-power-infras-40-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> the acquisition of Vento Power, a company developing a 40 MW solar power project in the Bolangir district of Odisha.</p>


Enviro Infra’s Subsidiary to Acquire Suyog Urja in $33 Million Deal

					</table><p><a href="https://www.eierenew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EIE Renewables</a>, a wholly owned subsidiary of <a href="https://www.eiel.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Enviro Infra Engineers</a>, has entered into an agreement to acquire PRA Bihar Bess, a special purpose vehicle of Barbrik Projects set up to implement a 37.5 MW/150 MWh battery energy storage project in Bihar.</p>
<p>The company has signed a share purchase and options agreement to acquire a 49% equity stake in the target company. The remaining 51% stake is expected to be acquired within 60 days of the project’s commercial operation date.</p>
<p>The acquisition is expected to be completed at a cost of ₹155.1 million (~$1.86 million).</p>
<p>In 2025, Barbrik Projects <a href="https://mercomindia.com/prostarm-hindustan-power-barbrik-win-bihars-125-mw-420-mwh-bess-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the battery storage project under Bihar State Power Holding Company’s 125 MW/500 MWh battery storage auction.</p>
<p>The project has signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement with Bihar State Power Holding Company and its distribution subsidiaries at a tariff of ₹444,000 (~$5,337)/MW/month for 12 years.</p>
<p>The project has an estimated capital expenditure of ₹1.5 billion (~$18 million), which is expected to be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt from financial institutions.</p>
<p>It may also be eligible for viability gap funding support of up to ₹2.7 million (~$32,450)/MWh.</p>
<p>The acquisition is intended to expand EIE Renewables’ energy storage portfolio and geographic presence, according to the filing.</p>
<p>Last year, the company <a href="https://mercomindia.com/enviro-infra-acquires-49-stake-in-renewable-energy-firm-soltrix" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> a 49% equity stake in Soltrix Energy Solutions for ₹13.2 million (~$153,352).</p>
<p>The same year, Enviro Infra Engineers also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enviro-infra-engineers-acquires-vento-power-infras-40-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> the acquisition of Vento Power, which is developing a 40 MW solar project in Odisha.</p>
<p>In January 2026, EIE Renewables <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eie-renewables-win-wbsedcls-10-mw-rooftop-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company’s auction to install 10 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems.</p>
<p>The same year, EIE Renewables <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eie-renewables-wins-itis-10-mw-ground-mounted-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> ITI’s auction to set up a 10 MW ground-mounted solar project at Naini in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>According to the 2H &amp; Annual 2025 India’s Energy Storage Landscape Report by Mercom India Research, the country <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/indias-energy-storage-capacity-rose-26-yoy-in-2025-adding-547-mwh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> nearly 547 MWh of battery energy storage capacity in 2025, around 26% year-over-year increase from over 433 MWh. India’s cumulative installed battery energy storage capacity reached almost 1,082 MWh as of December 2025.</p>

<p>The rapid <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/farmers-in-maharashtra-and-rajasthan-turn-to-robotic-cleaning-to-improve-solar-output" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rollout</a> of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program is gradually transforming India’s rural solar landscape by enabling decentralized, feeder-level solar power projects for agricultural use. The project will be executed under a build-own-operate-transfer model. The scope of work covers the supply, installation, and commissioning of the project, including power evacuation lines to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation substation.</p>
<p>Heavy Civil Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/lt-wins-order-for-3-gw-pumped-storage-project-from-torrent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an order from Torrent Energy Storage Solutions, an arm of Torrent Power, for the construction of the 3,000 MW Saidongar-1 Pumped Storage Project in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. The project will comprise ten units of 300 MW each.</p>
<p>The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/delhi-plans-phased-rollback-of-additional-surcharge-for-open-access" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposed</a> gradually eliminating the additional surcharge for consumers availing of general network access or open access. Under the proposed Terms and Conditions for Open Access (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025, the additional surcharge will be reduced linearly from the level prevailing at the time the access was granted and eliminated within four years, provided the consumer continues to avail such access.</p>
<p>The Ministry of Heavy Industries <a href="http://mercomindia.com/government-notifies-performance-standards-for-evs-under-pm-e-drive-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notified</a> amendments to the Production-Linked Incentive program for the automobile and auto components industry. The amendments have revised the performance criteria for electric vehicles (EVs) eligible for incentives and aligned them with new national electric mobility programs, such as the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement program.</p>
<p>The Delhi Government <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/delhi-government-to-generate-revenue-from-green-projects-using-carbon-credits" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> a proposal to implement a Carbon Credit Monetization Framework to convert the city’s green projects into revenue-generating assets to support pollution control and sustainability efforts. Under the framework, every verified reduction of one metric ton of CO<sup>2</sup>-equivalent from Delhi’s climate initiatives would generate a tradable carbon credit that can be sold in voluntary or compliance carbon markets globally.</p>
<p>The Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) <a href="https://mercomindia.com/punjab-invites-bids-for-250-mw-500-mwh-standalone-bess#:~:text=The%20BESS%20projects%20are%20eligible,be%20opened%20on%20February%2016." target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a request for selection to set up 250 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Bhatinda, Punjab. The BESS projects are eligible for viability gap funding of ₹1.8 million (~$19,946.14)/MWh. The BESS projects will be constructed on the land occupied by the 460 MW Guru Nanak Dev thermal project after it is demolished.</p>
<p>PSPCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/punjab-discom-floats-tender-for-1-gwh-standalone-bess-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up 500 MW/1,000 MWh standalone BESS. The last date to submit bids is February 13. Bids will be opened on February 16. The scope of work covers the setting up of the BESS to make stored power available to the buying entity/PSPCL for charging and discharging on a demand basis.</p>
<p>Chennai Petroleum Corporation, a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/chennai-petroleum-invites-bids-for-pre-feasibility-of-100-mw-wind-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for a pre-feasibility study for the round-the-clock supply of 100 MW of energy from wind and solar power projects. The last day to submit the bids is January 27, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>GreenTech, an operations and maintenance company specializing in wind turbine asset management, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/greentech-raises-%E2%82%B9300-million-to-scale-wind-turbine-asset-management" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> ₹300 million (~$3.3 million) in its first funding round, comprising a mix of equity and debt, led by Transition VC.</p>
<p>Bengaluru-based lithium-ion (li-ion) battery solutions provider Nash Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nash-energy-commissions-2-gwh-battery-pack-manufacturing-line-in-karnataka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 2 GWh fully automated prismatic battery pack manufacturing line at its facility in Dobbspet, Karnataka. Prismatic battery packs incorporate flat, rectangular li-ion cells with stacked internal components and rigid metal casing.</p>
<p>The CSIR-National Physical Laboratory <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/csir-launches-calibration-facility-to-support-indias-solar-manufacturing-push" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> two apex-level calibration facilities to strengthen India’s national quality infrastructure and reduce reliance on foreign certifications. One of them is the National Primary Standard Facility for Solar Cell Calibration, a system to calibrate solar cells and modules.</p>
<p>The Northern Railway, Ambala Division, <a href="http://mercomindia.com/northern-railway-floats-tender-for-1-mw-solar-project-in-ambala-division" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for setting up 1,000 kW on-grid solar projects across multiple locations in Haryana. Bids must be submitted by January 29, 2026. The estimated cost of the project is ₹58.8 million (~$710,000). The project involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 1,000 kW on-grid solar project without battery backup at station buildings, service buildings, and level crossing gates at various locations under the Ambala Division in Haryana.</p>
<p>China’s State Council Tariff Commission, based on the Ministry of Commerce’s recommendation, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/china-retains-antidumping-duties-on-polysilicon-from-us-south-korea#:~:text=China's%20State%20Council%20Tariff%20Commission,years%20from%20January%2014%2C%202026." target="_blank" rel="noopener">decided</a> to extend the imposition of antidumping duties on imported solar-grade polysilicon from the U.S. and South Korea for five years from January 14, 2026.</p>
<p>Huawei and Sungrow <a href="https://mercomindia.com/huawei-sungrow-lead-woodmacs-global-solar-inverter-h1-2025-rankings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerged</a> as the world’s top two solar inverter manufacturers in the first half (H1) of 2025, according to Wood Mackenzie’s Global Solar Inverter Manufacturer Rankings H1 2025 report. Huawei ranked first with a score of 93.9 out of 100, closely followed by Sungrow at 93.7.</p>
<p>Researchers at Norway-based research institute SINTEF and the Swiss heat storage solutions company COWA Thermal Solutions <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/researchers-develop-battery-for-efficient-heat-storage-from-heat-pumps" target="_blank" rel="noopener">developed</a> a new battery system for storing heat from heat pumps. Heat pumps extract energy from their surroundings and transport the heat into buildings.</p>
<p>Global solar irradiation <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/indias-solar-irradiation-below-normal-in-2025-global-anomalies-reach-20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">swung</a> to both positive and negative extremes in 2025, with the highest positive anomalies reaching up to 20% over long-term averages (LTA), according to the maps released by Slovakia-based global solar data assessor and forecaster Solargis. The greatest drops in global horizontal irradiation during the year reached below 14% of the LTA.</p>
<p>Global renewable energy sector employment <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/renewable-energy-jobs-hit-record-but-growth-slows-amid-automation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stood</a> at 16.6 million in 2024, up 2.3% from 2023, even as global renewable power capacity expanded to 4,443 GW, with a record 582 GW added during the year, according to the Renewable Energy and Jobs – Annual Review 2025 released by the International Renewable Energy Agency and the International Labor Organization.</p>

<p>EIE Renewables must supply electricity for 25 years as per the tripartite power purchase agreement.</p>
<p>The project will be executed under a build-own-operate-transfer model.</p>
<p>The scope of work covers the supply, installation, and commissioning of the project, including power evacuation lines to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) substation.</p>
<p>It also involves identifying the buyer of the power generated by the project.</p>
<p>EIE Renewables must also arrange for the leveling of land, civil works, fencing of the land, provision of lighting and security arrangements, and the setting up of the building infrastructure at its own cost.</p>
<p>It must also secure the permits and clearances required for the project’s setup, including those from the state government and local bodies.</p>
<p>ITI will provide 30 acres of land at its premises to install the project, transmission connectivity, and a bay to transmit power to the nearest 33 kV UPPCL substation.</p>
<p>The project is technology-agnostic, but EIE must promote only established, operational technologies to minimize technology risk and achieve timely project commissioning.</p>
<p>The project must maintain a minimum annual capacity utilization of 16%.</p>
<p>EIE Renewables recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/eie-renewables-win-wbsedcls-10-mw-rooftop-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company’s auction to install 10 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems.</p>
<p>In September 2025, ITI <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/iti-floats-epc-tender-for-5-mw-solar-project-in-jharkhand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> expressions of interest for engineering, procurement, and construction of a 5 MW grid-connected solar project in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district.</p>
<p>Last August, ITI also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/iti-invites-bids-to-empanel-consultant-for-10-mw-solar-project-in-madhya-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> expressions of interest to empanel a consultant to prepare a detailed project report for a 10 MW solar project at Bijuri Municipal Council in Madhya Pradesh.</p>

EIE Renewables Wins ITI’s 10 MW Ground-Mounted Solar Auction

					</table><p><a href="https://www.eierenew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EIE Renewables</a> has won the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company’s (<a href="https://www.wbsedcl.in/irj/go/km/docs/internet/new_website/Home.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WBSEDCL</a>) auction to install 10 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems.</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/west-bengal-invites-bids-for-10-mw-rooftop-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in September last year.</p>
<p>The systems will be installed on state government buildings spread across eight districts, namely Medinipur (1.5 MW), Bankura (1.5 MW), Kolkata South (1.5 MW), Kolkata North (1.5 MW), Bardhaman (1 MW), Berhampore (1 MW), Malda (1 MW), and Siliguri (1 MW).</p>
<p>The estimated work value at Medinipur, Bankura, Kolkata South, and Kolkata North is ₹58.5 million (~$666,111.19) and ₹39 million (~$444,074.13) for Bardhaman, Berhampore, Malda, and Siliguri.</p>
<p>The systems must be installed within seven months of issuing the letter of award.</p>
<p>The West Bengal Government has envisaged a 40 MW grid-connected rooftop solar program to be implemented across government buildings in 20 districts. It plans to allocate 100% state funding of ₹2 billion (~$22.25 million) for this program, to be executed in three phases over the financial years 2025-25 to 2027-28.</p>
<p>In June last year, EIE Renewables <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enviro-infra-acquires-49-stake-in-renewable-energy-firm-soltrix/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> a 49% equity stake in renewable energy company Soltrix Energy Solutions for ₹13.2 million (~$153,352). The company said it would acquire the remaining 51% stake in Soltrix one year after the project’s completion, and it signed a share purchase and options agreement. Soltrix was awarded an EPC contract for a 29 MW solar power project in Maharashtra.</p>
<p>India added 4.9 GW of rooftop solar capacity in the first nine months (9M) of the calendar year 2025, compared to 1.9 GW in the previous year, a 161% year-over-year (YoY) increase, according to Mercom India’s <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/product/rooftop-solar-market-report-q3-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Q3 2025 India Rooftop Solar Market Report</a>.</p>
<p>During the third quarter, the country added 2.1 GW of rooftop solar capacity, a 29% quarter-over-quarter increase from 1.6 GW and a 164% YoY increase from 791 MW.</p>
