					</table><p>Jakson Green <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jakson-green-wins-secis-85000-tpa-green-ammonia-auction#:~:text=Jakson%20quoted%20a%20tariff%20of,International%20in%20Kakinada%2C%20Andhra%20Pradesh." target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction to supply 85,000 tons per annum of green ammonia under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition program (Mode-2A-Tranche-I). Jakson quoted a tariff of ₹50.75(~$0.58)/kg to win the auction. The tariff discovered is lower than the previous tariff of ₹51.8 (~$0.591)/kg won by NTPC. The green ammonia will be supplied to Coromandel International in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. This is the six auction under the same tranche.</p>
<p>G R Infraprojects <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/gr-infraprojects-wins-recpdcls-project-to-evacuate-2-5-gw-renewable-energy#:~:text=The%20annual%20transmission%20charges%20are,will%20run%20for%2035%20years." target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> REC Power Development and Consultancy’s (RECPDCL) transmission project to evacuate 2,500 MW of power from renewable energy projects in Rajgarh and Neemuch Special Economic Zones in Madhya Pradesh. The tender was floated in March this year. The annual transmission charges are ₹3.67 billion (~$42.67 million). The projects must be completed within 24 months from the date of acquisition of the special purpose vehicle. The operations and maintenance period will run for 35 years.</p>
<p>The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/west-bengal-issues-rooftop-solar-regulations-for-prosumers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (Grid Interactive Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic System for Prosumers) Regulations, 2025, which applies to all grid-interactive rooftop solar systems installed by prosumers connected to distribution licensees. Prosumers retain the same rights as general electricity consumers and may install rooftop systems independently or through service providers under the renewable energy service company or the utility-led aggregation models, on a first-come, first-served basis.</p>
<p>In an interview on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2025 <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solar-cell-demand-can-be-met-with-a-short-deadline-extension-if-needed-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held</a> in New Delhi on July 24 and 25, 2025, Avinash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at RenewSys, shared his insights on India’s solar cell and module, and components manufacturing. He also gave an overview of his company’s products and plans for expansion.</p>
<p>In an interview on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2025, Kartikeya Narain Sharma, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Sunsure Energy, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/battery-storage-is-a-component-of-rtc-power-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spoke</a> about the future of open access projects and the evolving battery energy storage landscape. Sharma spoke about the diminishing importance of plain solar and wind power projects, and the growing demand for hybrid projects and round-the-clock projects.</p>
<p>Entrepreneur and investor Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of online stock broking firm Zerodha, has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nikhil-kamath-invests-%E2%82%B91-37-billion-in-module-manufacturer-goldi-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invested</a> ₹1.37 billion (~$15.68 million) in solar module manufacturer Goldi Solar. The investment will enable Goldi Solar, with manufacturing facilities in Gujarat, to expand its solar module production capacity. Goldi Solar said it has nearly tripled its module manufacturing capacity from 3 GW to 14.7 GW in the last 12 months. It is also expanding its solar cell manufacturing in Surat, Gujarat. According to the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers update, Goldi Solar has added 2,675 MW, bringing its total capacity under ALMM to 7,263 MW.</p>
<p>The Ceylon Electricity Board has <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sri-lanka-invites-bids-for-160-mw-640-mwh-standalone-bess-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an international competitive bidding tender for the development of 160 MW/640 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems. Bids must be submitted by September 10, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. Bidders must furnish a bid security of LKR25 million (~$83,333.33)/10MW/40MWh project and a bid document fee of LKR150,000 (~$500) for domestic bidders or $500 for overseas bidders. Successful bidders will provide a performance security of LKR108 million (~$360,000)/10MW/40MWh project. The quoted tariff will be a flat capacity charge rate in LKR/MW/month for the 15-year period.</p>
<p>The U.S. Treasury Department <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/us-treasury-guidance-tightens-renewable-energy-tax-credit-rules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> new rules limiting how wind and solar companies can claim federal tax breaks. While industry associations criticized the guidance as a further blow to clean energy development, industry analysts viewed the changes as minimal and less severe than initially feared. In July 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the Secretary of the Treasury to terminate the clean electricity production and investment tax credits for wind and solar facilities and implement the enhanced foreign entity of concern restrictions identified in the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://www.grinfra.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">G R Infraprojects</a> has won REC Power Development and Consultancy’s (<a href="https://recpdcl.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RECPDCL</a>) transmission project to evacuate 2,500 MW of power from renewable energy projects in Rajgarh and Neemuch Special Economic Zones in Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/recpdcl-invites-bids-for-2-5-gw-renewable-energy-transmission-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in March this year.</p>
<p>The annual transmission charges are ₹3.67 billion (~$42.67 million). The projects must be completed within 24 months from the date of acquisition of the special purpose vehicle. The operations and maintenance period will run for 35 years.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the establishment of a 2&#215;500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation at Handiya, equipped with two 125 MVAr 420 kV bus reactors. At Neemuch Power Station (PS), a new 220 kV Bus Section-II will be created, with augmentation of transformation capacity through three 500 MVA, 400/220 kV interconnecting transformers (ICTs) and the construction of four new 220 kV line bays for renewable energy interconnection.</p>
<p>Additionally, a new 220 kV Bus Section will be set up with a 220 kV Bus Sectionalizer, augmentation of transformation capacity through another set of three 500 MVA, 400/220 kV ICTs, and three 220 kV line bays for renewable energy interconnection.</p>
<p>The project also includes the installation of a 220 kV line bay for renewable energy interconnection for Purvah Green Power and a 1&#215;125 MVAr, 420 kV bus reactor at Pachora PS (400 kV Bus Section-II).</p>
<p>Further works include four 400 kV line bays, two at Rajgarh (PG) and two at Pachora PS, along with four 420 kV switchable line reactors (two each at Rajgarh and Pachora), and four switching equipment units for the 400 kV line reactors.</p>
<p>Transmission line construction includes a 400 kV double-circuit (D/C) line with associated line bays and 50 MVAr switchable line reactors on each circuit at both ends. Additional 400 kV D/C lines of similar specifications will be built with associated line bays at Pachora PS and Handiya substation, including a 400 kV D/C (Twin Moose) line at Handiya substation.</p>
<p>The project, titled “Transmission system for Evacuation of Power from RE Projects in Rajgarh (1500 MW) SEZ in Madhya Pradesh-Phase III and Evacuation of Power from RE Projects in Neemuch (1000 MW) SEZ in Madhya Pradesh-Phase II,” will be implemented on a build, own, operate, transfer basis.</p>
<p>Last December, G R Infraprojects was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/g-r-infraprojects-transmission-system-karnataka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> a contract from PFC Consulting to establish an inter-state transmission system to integrate the Bijapur Renewable Energy Zone in Karnataka.</p>
