					</table><p>Industrial, electronic, and specialty gas manufacturer Inox Air Products (<a href="https://inoxairproducts.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">INOXAP</a>) has entered into long-term partnerships with <a href="https://thegrewsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grew Energy</a> and <a href="https://www.renew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ReNew Energy Global</a> to supply ultra-high-purity (UHP) nitrogen for their upcoming solar cell manufacturing facilities.</p>
<p>Inox Air will supply nitrogen to ReNew’s 4 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Dholera, Gujarat, and to Grew Energy’s 3 GW solar cell manufacturing facility at Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>Grew’s 3 GW solar manufacturing facility is being <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/grew-solar-to-set-up-3-gw-cell-and-module-facility-in-madhya-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">developed</a> with an investment of ₹30 billion (~$345 million) and is expected to be operational by 2026.</p>
<p>In May 2025, ReNew <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/renew-secures-%E2%82%B98-7-billion-from-british-international-investment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an investment of ₹8.7 billion (~$100 million) from British International Investment to construct the 4 GW TOPCon cell facility.</p>
<p>As part of this strategic engagement, INOXAP will develop a state-of-the-art air separation unit for Renew and is expected to be fully operation by the end of next year. The ASU will be set up to meet the tailored, stringent purity and consistency requirements for the manufacturing of solar cells.</p>
<p>INOXAP will also invest in and develop a dedicated pipeline network from its existing ASU in Narmadapuram to ensure reliableround-the-clock supplies.</p>
<p>Nitrogen gas is used to keep the solar cell manufacturing environment free of oxygen and moisture. TOPCon cells are extremely sensitive to contamination; oxygen or humidity can ruin wafer surfaces or doped layers.</p>
<p>INOXAP offers a portfolio of gases, equipment, and services, supported by a manufacturing capacity of more than 4,700 TPD of liquid gases, delivered from more than 50 operating locations.</p>
<p>Expanding its backward integration capabilities, ReNew is <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/renew-to-invest-%E2%82%B9600-billion-in-clean-energy-projects-in-andhra-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">setting</a> up a 6 GW solar ingot-wafer manufacturing plant as part of a ₹600 billion (~$6.76 billion) plan to develop multiple green energy projects in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>In September this year, GREW Solar <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/module-manufacturer-grew-solar-secures-%E2%82%B93-billion-to-expand-capacity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> ₹3 billion (~$34.09 million) from a group of investors, including those from GeeCee Holdings. Grew Solar will use the funds to develop new products, strengthen its technological infrastructure, and expand capacity across its facilities.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://www.grew.one/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grew Energy</a>, a renewable energy venture of the <a href="https://chiripalgroup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chiripal Group</a>, announced plans to set up a 3.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Kathua, Jammu &amp; Kashmir. The company will invest ₹45 billion (~$ 538.8 million) to establish the fully integrated three-stage facility on 80 acres of land.</p>
<p>Upon completion, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 3.2 GW of high-efficiency solar modules and 2.8 GW of solar ingots, wafers and cells.</p>
<p>“The new plant will not only add to the socio-economic development of the state, but it will also play a pivotal role in meeting India’s net zero target. It will also help in creating employment opportunities for the people of Jammu &amp; Kashmir,” said CEO Vinay Thadani.</p>
<p>With its existing 2.8 GW module facility in Rajasthan and the new unit, Grew Energy, aims to achieve a total manufacturing capacity of 6 GW for modules and 2.8 GW for solar components by fiscal year 2025.</p>
<p>Last month, the company <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/swelect-grew-renew-win-secis-auction-supply-400-mw-solar-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to manufacture, test, package, forward, supply, and transport 200 MW domestically manufactured solar modules at a value of ₹22.66 million (~$271,597) per MWp.</p>
<p>Last year, the company was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/reliance-renew-tata-power-winners-pli-11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> a winner by SECI to be eligible to receive a total of ₹5.67 billion (~$70 million) under Tranche II of the performance-linked incentive program to manufacture 2 GW of solar modules.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, Jammu and Kashmir became the destination for GoodEnough Energy’s ₹4.50 billion (~$54 million) battery energy storage systems gigafactory with 7 GWh capacity. The gigafactory is expected to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jammu-and-kashmir-india-largest-battery-gigafactory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commence</a> operations in October 2024, with plans to scale the capacity to 20 GWh by 2026.</p>
<p>India added 20.8 GW of solar modules and 3.2 GW of solar cell capacity in calendar year (CY) 2023, according to the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/product/state-solar-manufacturing-india-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 2024</a> Report by Mercom India Research.</p>


Grew Energy to Build 3.2 GW Solar Module Facility in Jammu & Kashmir

					</table><p><a href="https://swelectes.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Swelect Energy Systems</a>, <a href="https://www.grew.one/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grew Energy</a>, and ReNew Photovoltaics (<a href="https://www.renew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ReNew</a>) were declared winners in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (<a href="https://www.seci.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SECI</a>) auction to manufacture, test, package, forward, supply, and transport 400 MW domestically manufactured solar modules.</p>
<p>Swelect was awarded 100 MW capacity, Grew Energy won 200 MW, and ReNew won 100 MW at an evaluated bid value of ₹ 22.66 (~$0.272)/Wp. The per MWp evaluated value for all the bidders was ₹22.66 million (~$271,597).</p>

<p>SECI had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seci-invites-bids-manufactured-solar-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> the tender in December 2023.</p>
<p>The selected manufacturers must use domestically manufactured solar cells in these modules.</p>
<p>Bidders must provide a single type of module technology, specifically crystalline technology, and these modules should have identical dimensions.</p>
<p>The project site for delivering the modules can be anywhere in India. The owner will communicate the specific details of the site to the supplier when dispatching the modules.</p>
<p>The supply of modules and the mandatory spares included in the award must occur through staggered deliveries within a nine-month delivery window.</p>
<p>The tender mandates using domestically manufactured solar cells and modules meeting the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy specifications sourced from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.</p>
<p>The owner retains the authority to adjust the quoted capacity of modules by a margin of ±10% when confirming the order without altering the agreed-upon price, terms, and conditions.</p>
<p>Additionally, the owner will possess the right to issue a repeat order for an additional quantity of up to 100% of the initially awarded module package capacity. This subsequent order will be subject to the same price, terms, and conditions as the original contract.</p>
<p>The extended delivery period required for this supplementary order will be mutually agreed upon. The approval and execution of such a repeated order will occur no later than six months from the date of the original awarded capacity.</p>
<p>Recently, SECI <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seci-invites-bids-for-solar-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the manufacturing, testing, packing, forwarding, supply, and transportation of 900 MW solar modules made with domestically manufactured solar cells.</p>
