Origis Energy, a U.S.-based renewable energy company, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/origis-energy-secures-290-million-financing-for-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> $290 million for the Swift Air Solar II and Swift Air Solar III projects in Ector County, Texas. The two projects have a total capacity of 313 MW. The senior secured debt facilities, which include construction debt, term debt, and a tax credit bridge loan, were secured from Natixis Corporate &amp; Investment Banking and Santander Corporate &amp; Investment Banking.
Tages Capital, an asset manager specializing in private-market alternative investment funds, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/tages-capital-secures-781-million-in-green-loan-refinancing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> a non-recourse green loan transaction worth €671 million (~$781 million). The funding will be used to refinance its entire portfolio of solar projects totaling approximately 272 MW and to fund project upgrades and repowering initiatives, including capacity increases and the development of electrochemical storage systems.
ACCIONA Energía, a renewable energy company that develops, builds, and operates wind, solar, and other clean energy projects, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/acciona-energia-sell-solar-wind-portfolio-in-us-and-mexico/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> an agreement with Mexico Infrastructure Partners, an investment firm for the sale of a 49% stake in its 1.3 GW solar portfolio in the U.S., together with the whole stake in two wind projects in Mexico totaling 321 MW for $1 billion.

Three of the projects are in the Lazio region of central Italy near Rome, while the other two are in the Puglia region in southeastern Italy.

<a href="https://potentiaenergy.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Potentia Energy</a>, a renewable energy project developer, secured approximately AUD$830 million (~$552 million) in debt financing for a diversified renewable energy portfolio comprising solar, wind, and hybrid battery energy storage systems.
The portfolio includes six projects across Australia, totaling more than 600 MW of capacity.
A consortium of seven Australian and international financial institutions, including Bank of China, BNP Paribas, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Mizuho Bank, Societe Generale, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and Westpac Banking Corporation, provided the debt financing for the portfolio.
The funding will be used to support the company&#8217;s pipeline of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects, including projects currently under construction across regional Australia.
Citi acted as the financial advisor on the transaction, Allens as legal advisor to Potentia Energy, and Ashurst as legal advisor to the lenders.
In May 2025, the company secured access rights for the 1 GW Tallawang Solar Hybrid project, which includes a 500 MW solar and a 500 MW/1 GWh battery energy storage system, located in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
In February 2025, the company <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/potentia-energy-acquires-over-1-gw-of-renewable-energy-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> more than 1 GW of a portfolio of renewable energy projects across Australia from CVC DIF and Cbus Super. The portfolio comprises approximately 700 MW of operational solar and wind projects across multiple states and the Australian Capital Territory, alongside over 430 MW of late-stage developments, including South Australian and Queensland battery energy storage systems, and a Western Australian wind project which recently achieved financial close.

Potentia Energy Secures $552 Million Financing for Renewable Portfolio

Potentia Energy, a renewable energy developer co-owned by Enel Green Power and INPEX, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/potentia-energy-acquires-over-1-gw-of-renewable-energy-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">completed</a> the acquisition of controlling stakes in a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 1 GW across Australia. The assets were acquired from infrastructure investor CVC DIF and superannuation fund Cbus Super. The acquisition also includes shares in Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture with Synergy, owned by the Western Australian state government.
AIP Management, a Nordic-based investment manager in diversified decarbonization infrastructure, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/aip-management-to-acquire-49-99-stake-in-solar-and-storage-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> to acquire a 49.99% equity stake in the 300 MW solar with a co-located 200 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage Pine Forest project from Clearway Energy Group, a utility-scale renewable energy and storage project developer. The project is in the ERCOT North market region in Texas. The total investment is approximately $200 million. The project is currently under construction and is expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The projects are to be built at the company’s six combined heat and power projects in Rzeszów, Kielce, Lublin, Zgierz, Bydgoszcz, and Gorzów Wielkopolski in Poland.

<a href="https://potentiaenergy.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Potentia Energy</a>, a renewable energy developer co-owned by Enel Green Power and INPEX, has completed the acquisition of controlling stakes in a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 1 GW across Australia. The assets were acquired from infrastructure investor CVC DIF and superannuation fund Cbus Super.
The acquisition also includes shares in Bright Energy Investments (BEI), a joint venture with Synergy, owned by the Western Australian state government. The portfolio comprises over 700 MW of operational solar and wind projects spread across multiple states and the Australian Capital Territory, along with more than 430 MW of late-stage development projects, including battery energy storage systems in South Australia and Queensland.
The acquisition has operational BEI projects, which include stage one of the Warradarge wind, the Greenough River Solar, the Albany Grasmere Wind, the Clare Solar, the Royalla Solar, and the Bungala Solar.
Macquarie Capital and White &amp; Case advised CVC DIF, while Baker McKenzie advised Potentia Energy on the transaction. The financial details of the transaction remained undisclosed.
&#8220;This acquisition isn&#8217;t just a step forward, it&#8217;s a giant leap toward our vision for delivering the renewable energy Australia needs,&#8221; said Potentia Energy CEO Werther Esposito. &#8220;The acquisition significantly expands our capabilities within the Wholesale Electricity Market and National Electricity Market. Importantly, the Bright Energy Investments partnership will facilitate collaboration with Synergy to support the state&#8217;s energy transition and decarbonization goals.&#8221;
According to Mercom&#8217;s Annual and Q4 2024 Solar Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/annual-and-q4-2024-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Report</a>, 217 large-scale solar project acquisitions totaling 37.7 GW were transacted in 2024, compared to 231 transactions totaling 45.4 GW in 2023.
Earlier this week, Renewable Power Capital (RPC), a pan-European renewables company, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/renewable-power-capital-acquires-1-9-gw-solar-and-wind-project-portfolio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> the acquisition of the Swedish and Finnish solar and onshore wind development business of Njordr AS, the Nordic renewable power subsidiary of Vanir Green Industries AS (VGI).
