					</table><p>India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/india-adds-record-15-3-gw-of-solar-capacity-in-q1-2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">installed</a> 15.3 GW of solar capacity in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, its highest-ever quarterly total, according to Mercom India’s Q1 2026 India Solar Market Update Report. Additions rose more than 143% year-over-year (YoY) from 6.3 GW in Q1 2025, and nearly 49% quarter-over-quarter from about 10.3 GW in Q4 2025.</p>
<p>The Rajasthan Government <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rajasthan-brings-renewable-energy-projects-under-land-conversion-framework" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amended</a> the Rajasthan Land Revenue (Conversion of Agricultural Land for Non-Agricultural Purposes in Rural Areas) Rules, 2007, bringing renewable energy projects within the land conversion framework.</p>
<p>The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tamil-nadu-regulator-approves-tariff-for-500-mw-pumped-storage-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adopted</a> the discovered tariff for Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation’s procurement of 500 MW of pumped-storage capacity. The approved procurement is for 500 MW from an existing grid-connected pumped storage project in Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Businesses in Jodhpur are <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jodhpur-businesses-seek-clean-energy-solutions-for-long-term-power-savings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">evincing</a> interest in sourcing power, specifically rooftop and open-access models. Commercial and industrial entities, large institutions, and residential apartments benefit immensely from such solutions, as they provide access to power at tariffs below conventional grid rates.</p>
<p>Terra Clean, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/terra-clean-issues-land-aggregation-tender-for-100-mw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a request for proposal to aggregate land for an interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected 100 MW solar project near the Davanagere ISTS Pooling Substation in Karnataka. The last date to submit bids is June 11, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Terra Clean, a subsidiary of India Oil Corporation, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/terra-clean-issues-land-aggregation-tender-for-a-200-mw-wind-project-in-karnataka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for land aggregation to develop an ISTS-connected wind power project of 200 MW within the jurisdiction of the Davangere substation, Karnataka. The last date to submit bids is June 11, 2026, and bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Rewa Ultra Mega Solar <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rumsl-invites-bids-for-land-for-solar-projects-in-madhya-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> expressions of interest for the purchase of private land parcels from prospective land owners to set up solar projects in Madhya Pradesh. The last day to submit the bids is June 8, 2026.</p>
<p>Indraprastha Gas, a joint venture of GAIL India, BPCL, and the Government of Delhi, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/indraprastha-gas-tenders-160-mw-solar-project-with-28-mwh-battery-storage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up a 160 MW solar power project with a 28 MWh battery storage system in Rajasthan. The successful bidder must operate and maintain the project for five years. The last date to submit bids is June 9, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bharat Heavy Electricals <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/bhel-floats-tender-for-1-5-mw-rooftop-solar-project-in-bhopal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up a 1,500 kW grid-connected rooftop solar project at its facility in Piplani, Bhopal. The project will connect to the internal 415 V system at the factory, including the 415 V switchgear of the load center. Bids must be submitted by June 3, 2026.</p>
<p>The Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/andhra-pradesh-invites-bids-for-93-mw-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up 93.2 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects through the utility-led aggregation capital expenditure model under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana within the jurisdiction of the Kuppam Rural Electric Cooperative Society.</p>
<p>Integrated power company Tata Power <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tata-powers-q4-fy-2026-revenue-falls-8-lower-epc-revenue" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> a revenue of ₹159.62 billion (~$1.67 billion) in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2026, a 7.9% YoY decrease from ₹173.28 billion (~$2 billion). Solar engineering, procurement, and construction revenue fell to ₹22.08 billion (~$231 million) during the quarter from ₹31.1 billion (~$325.18 million) last year, mainly due to a decline in income from large and group captive projects, which fell to ₹4.8 billion (~$50.2 million) from ₹22.46 billion (~$234.84 million).</p>
<p>U.S.-based solar tracker firm Nextpower <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/strong-us-demand-pushes-nextpowers-fy-2026-revenue-up-20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> revenue of $880.5 million in Q4 of the financial year 2026, a 4.7% YoY decrease from $924.3 million. The revenue exceeded analysts’ expectations by $50.7 million.</p>
<p>Hydrogen fuel cell solutions provider Plug Power <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/plug-power-q1-revenue-beats-estimates-as-electrolyzer-sales-jump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> revenue of $163.51 million in Q1 2026, a 22.3% YoY increase compared to $133.67 million. This growth was driven by expansion across its material handling and electrolyzer businesses.</p>
<p>Germany’s Federal Network Agency <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germany-awards-2-3-gw-solar-capacity-in-the-march-round" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> 268 bids for solar installations with a combined capacity of 2,299 MW in its March 2026 solar PV auction. The auction targeted a total capacity of 2,295 MW but received 532 bids totaling 4,622 MW, more than double the tender volume. Thirty-nine bids were excluded from the process.</p>

					</table><p>Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (<a href="http://www.reiljp.com/index.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REIL</a>), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan, has issued a tender for the selection of a charge point operator (CPO) to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across eight New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) sites.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes location survey and identification, planning, supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, and on-site comprehensive warranty of EV charging equipment for ten years.</p>
<p>The selected bidder must install at least one 60 kW dual EV charger per location, compatible with a combined charging system or other EV charging standards for widespread compatibility with most EVs.</p>
<p>The rapid EV charging stations are expected to charge various types of EVs, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and electric rickshaws at designated locations.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is April 23, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders are exempted from bid document fees and earnest money deposit. The selected bidder should furnish a performance bank guarantee of ₹4.32 million (~$51,781.14) within seven days from the date of signing.</p>
<p>Bidders should pay the upfront amount (non-refundable) towards project management and administration charges to REIL.</p>
<p>Bidders will be responsible for developing and investing in the upstream electrical infrastructure for the charging station, including transformers, ring main units, cables, installation, load enhancement, and obtaining new electrical connections from DISCOM, covering one-time and recurring expenses such as data charges, maintenance, and workforce for operation if necessary.</p>
<p>They will also be tasked with installing a waterproof canopy, barricades, lighting arrangements, security systems, and any other necessary constructions to ensure the satisfactory functioning of the EV charging station.</p>
<p>Bidders should also deploy qualified human resources, necessary tools, logistics, spares, and consumables during the supply, installation, commissioning, and operation &amp; maintenance (O&amp;M) of EV charging stations or any related infrastructure developed as part of the agreement for a period of 10 years from the agreement&#8217;s signing date.</p>
<p>They should have experience in the automobile sector and/or EV charging infrastructure, which may include e-mobility or involvement in the supply, business, or operation of EV charging infrastructure.</p>
<p>Bidders should demonstrate experience in supplying, installing, commissioning, and maintaining a minimum of 50 EV charging stations for a period of at least one year from the date of the publication of the tender.</p>
<p>They should have experience with at least 20 EV charging stations in government departments or on the premises.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of the bidders in the preceding three financial years should be a minimum of ₹4.32 million (~$51,781.14), and the net worth of the company in the last financial year (2023-24) must be positive.</p>
<p>Bidders should have a support network for operating the EV charging infrastructure in New Delhi and must not be blacklisted by any Central Government, State Government Organization, or any other Public Sector Organizations.</p>
<p>The previous seven years&#8217; experience of the bidders should meet one of the following criteria:</p>
<ol start="5">
<li>a) Three orders of Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (SITC) of EV chargers or similar products costing not less than 40% of the Total estimated value, i.e., ₹5.76 million (~$69,044) of EV charging equipment.</li>
<li>b) Two orders of SITC of EV chargers or similar products costing not less than 50% of the total estimated value, i.e., ₹7.2 million (~$86,301.06) of EV charging equipment.</li>
<li>c) One order of SITC of EV chargers or similar products costing not less than 80% of the total estimated value, i.e., ₹11.5 million (~$137,843.31) of EV charging equipment.</li>
</ol>
<p>In 2022, REIL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/reil-tender-consultancy-bis-certification-modules" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> terms of reference for appointing a consulting firm for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules.</p>
