<p>The top five companies supplied approximately 91% of the module mounting structures used in solar projects during the year.</p>

<p>The same five companies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solar-module-mounting-structure-market-leaders-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were</a> the top suppliers in 2024. However, their rankings within the group shifted in 2025.</p>
<p>Goodluck India retained its top position in 2025, with a market share of about 32%. During the year, the company <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/goodluck-india-secures-solar-structures-order-from-apraava" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> an order from Apraava Energy to supply roughly 70% of the module mounting structures for a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Metalkraft moved up two spots to second place, with 18% market share in 2025, while Raydean Industries remained in third place at 15%.</p>
<p>Strolar Mounting Systems and MTE Structures rounded off the top five, comprising 14% and 12% of the market share, respectively.</p>
<p>Government-supported programs such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan and PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, along with solar parks, city projects, and other utility-scale installations, have driven demand for mounting systems. The rise in rooftop solar installations across residential, commercial, and industrial segments has further supported adoption.</p>
<p>Monsoon winds <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/monsoon-winds-weak-links-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exposed</a> weak links in rooftop solar installation practices, where cost-cutting and poor engineering led to mounting failures even under typical pre-monsoon storms. Experts caution that ignoring the IS 875 wind-load standards and structural feasibility checks leaves solar systems vulnerable to cyclonic winds exceeding 200 kmph. With rooftop installations surging under government programs, the need for stronger, standardized mounting solutions has also increased.</p>
<p>Industry experts at Mercom’s RE Buyer-Seller Meet in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/industry-says-gap-between-solar-cell-and-module-manufacturing-capacity-a-concern" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emphasized</a> the importance of high-quality mounting structures for the lifetime of solar projects. Geography and site conditions determine material choices, with steel remaining the most widely used due to its cost and durability, despite growing interest in aluminum. New coating technologies are also shaping preferences, highlighting how material selection directly impacts project resilience and performance.</p>
<p>Looking ahead, mounting structure suppliers in India are expected to see strong growth, supported by rising solar installations. The market will be shaped by greater standardization, demand for high-strength, corrosion-resistant designs, and a shift toward advanced solutions, such as trackers. To remain competitive amid pricing pressures, suppliers will need to scale manufacturing, improve cost efficiency, and invest in innovation.</p>
<p>In September 2025, the U.S. decision to double Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum to 50% had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/us-move-to-double-tariffs-on-steel-and-aluminum-could-hurt-indian-exports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> concerns about higher costs for renewable energy equipment, including mounting structures. With Indian steel and aluminum exports falling directly under the new tariff zone, industry experts cautioned that pricing pressures could affect competitiveness and margins.</p>

<p>Various initiatives, including government-supported solar programs such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) and Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM Surya Ghar), as well as solar parks and city projects, and other utility-scale installations, drove the demand for mounting structures.</p>
<p>The increase in rooftop solar installations across residential, commercial, and industrial segments also pushed the demand for module mounting structures. Solar carports are gaining traction in housing complexes and commercial buildings, requiring robust mounting systems with an aesthetic appeal.</p>
<p>The importance of mounting systems designed to withstand wind and snow-induced loads is especially amplified during rainy seasons accompanied by heavy winds and thunderstorms. A well-built mounting system should be able to withstand these harsh conditions.</p>
<p>Goodluck India retained its top position in 2024. In January 2024, the company raised nearly ₹2 billion (~$23.9 million) through a qualified institutional placement.</p>
