					</table><p>New Delhi-based solar and waste-to-energy company <a href="https://www.sael.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SAEL Industries</a> has commissioned 800 MW of solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.</p>
<p>The company commissioned projects of 400 MWp and 500 MWp capacities through its subsidiaries, SAEL Solar P4 and SAEL Solar P5, respectively.</p>
<p>SAEL stated that the solar projects, spanning approximately 3,600 acres, are backed by 25-year power purchase agreements with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam. They use 1.5 million TOPCon bifacial modules, with over 60% of these assembled at SAEL’s solar manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan.</p>
<p>As of September 2025, the company’s portfolio included approximately 8.3 GWp of contracted and awarded solar independent power producer assets and battery energy storage systems. It also has a 3,625 MW of TOPCon solar module assembling capacity and 165 MW of agri waste-to-energy projects.</p>
<p>The company is also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sael-82-billion-integrated-solar-manufacturing-plant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">setting</a> up an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority allotted 200 acres for this facility in November last year.</p>
<p>Last October, SAEL was among the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/purvah-sael-among-winners-of-secis-2-gw-solar-4-gwh-energy-storage-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners</a> of the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s Tranche XX auction to set up 2,000 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar projects, along with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh energy storage systems. It won 300 MW at a tariff of ₹2.87 (~$0.0327)/kWh.</p>
<p>In August, SAEL Industries’ special purpose vehicle, Sunfree Energy RJP1, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sael-industries-commissions-200-mw-solar-project-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 200 MW solar power project in Jalore, Rajasthan. The solar project spanning over 1,000 acres utilizes advanced TOPCon solar modules in both 146-cell and 156-cell configurations. These cells have a peak output of up to 635 Wp and an efficiency of up to 22.95%.</p>
<p>Earlier, SAEL Solar RE Power commissioned a 50 MW solar project in Beed district, Maharashtra. It also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/reliance-sael-jbm-pnc-navayuga-win-nhpcs-1-2-gw-solar-plus-storage-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> 300 MW at a tariff of ₹3.13 (~$0.0365)/kWh in NHPC’s 1.2 GW auction (Tranche-XI) to set up interstate transmission system-connected solarprojects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh energy storage systems.</p>

<p>Reliance Infrastructure won 390 MW, JBM Renewables won 150 MW, PNC Infratech won 300 MW, and SAEL Industries won 300 MW at a tariff of ₹3.13 (~$0.0365)/kWh.</p>

<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nhpc-tenders-1-2-gw-solar-projects-with-energy-storage-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in March 2025.</p>
<p>It has a provision to award the winners an additional 1.2 GW under the greenshoe option.</p>
<p>The projects will be developed on a build, own, and operate basis.</p>
<p>Winners must utilize an ESS with a capacity of at least 0.5 MW/2 MWh for a contracted capacity of 1 MW.</p>
<p>They must charge the ESS with solar power. The ESS must be charged at a rate of up to 5% annually using renewable power from the green market or bilateral agreements.</p>
<p>The projects must use commercially established and operational technologies to minimize risk and achieve timely project commissioning.</p>
<p>Only cells and modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers must be used for the projects.</p>
<p>The tender specified that winners can set up projects at multiple locations, provided each project has a minimum capacity of 50 MW, with a minimum ESS component of 25 MW/100 MWh.</p>
<p>The cumulative capacity set up by a single bidder must not exceed 600 MW (with a minimum ESS component of 300 MW/1,200 MWh) without a greenshoe option.</p>
<p>In May 2025, SAEL Industries, Jindal India Renewable Energy, Sembcorp Green, JBM Renewables, Fastnote Biofuels (Hindustan Power), and Reliance NU Energies <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/reliance-jindal-among-winners-of-sjvns-1-2-gw-solar-plus-storage-auction">won</a> SJVN’s auction to develop 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar projects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh ESS.</p>
<p>In January 2025, Onix Renewable, Jindal India Renewable Energy, NTPC Renewable Energy, Kolar Solar Power (Rays Power Infra), ReNew Solar Power, and Adani Renewable Energy Holding Nine (Adani Green) <a href="https://mercomindia.com/nhpc-1-2-gw-solar-plus-storage-auction">won</a> NHPC’s auction to set up 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar projects with 600 MW/1,200 MWh ESS.</p>

					</table><p>New Delhi-based solar and waste-to-energy company <a href="https://www.sael.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SAEL Industries</a> will invest approximately ₹82 billion (~$953.78 million) through its subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6, to set up an integrated solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>This facility will be under the jurisdiction of the <a href="https://yamunaexpresswayauthority.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority</a>.</p>
<p>The facility will comprise a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing unit and a 5 GW solar module manufacturing line. SAEL’s total solar manufacturing capacity will increase to 8.5 GW after this project is operationalized.</p>
<p>The facility will produce tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cells, which will be assembled into solar panels at its in-house module manufacturing line.</p>
<p>The project is expected to begin construction this year.</p>
<p>SAEL Industries has over 6.7 GW of solar independent power producer (IPP) assets. These assets include operational and under-construction projects throughout India.  It also has a 3.2 GW TOPCon module assembly capacity in Rajasthan and a 300 MW assembly capacity in Punjab.</p>
<p>The company said the investment announcement is part of its backward integration strategy to support its growing solar IPP business and the domestic solar value chain.</p>
<p>India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/almm-strong-demand-drive-indias-solar-panel-manufacturing-capacity-to-25-3-gw-in-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> 25.3 GW of solar module capacity and 11.6 GW of solar cell capacity in 2024, according to Mercom’s State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 2025 report.</p>
<p>In May this year, SAEL Industries’ subsidiary SAEL Solar MHP <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sael-secures-132-million-for-300-mw-solar-project-in-andhra-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> debt finance of $132 million from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the New Development Bank, and Societe Generale to develop a 300 MW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>SAEL was among the <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/welspun-avaada-sael-win-guvnls-250-mw-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners</a> of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s auction to supply power from 250 MW grid-connected solar power projects anywhere in India with a greenshoe option of 250 MW. It won 100 MW out of the quoted capacity of 200 MW at a tariff of ₹2.60 (~$0.0299)/kWh.</p>
