Solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar has secured an order to supply 124 MW of modules to Capital Energy for a project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Vikram Solar will supply its G12R TOPCon modules with rated capacities ranging from 620 Wp to 630 Wp.

The company said the module supplies are scheduled to begin from October 2026 and the order is expected to be executed by the end of the third quarter.

Vikram Solar has a solar module manufacturing capacity of 15.5 GW. The company said the order follows its recent expansion of manufacturing capacity and will support utility-scale solar projects.

In the first quarter of the financial year (FY) 2027, Vikram Solar recorded module sales of 1,006 MW, up 31.7% from 764 MW in the corresponding quarter of FY 2026.

As of June 30, 2026, the company’s order book stood at approximately 7.9 GW. Large accounts, including export orders, accounted for 7.1 GW, while the mid-market segment contributed 0.8 GW.

Its 6 GW module manufacturing facility at Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu, commenced operations in June 2026, with the first module produced during the month.

Vikram Solar is also building 9 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity at Gangaikondan, with commercial operations scheduled for FY 2027. It plans to establish 9 GW of wafer and ingot manufacturing capacity at the same location by FY 2029.

The Kolkata-based company also plans to enter battery energy storage system manufacturing with 15 GWh of capacity by FY 2030.

India added nearly 119 GW of solar module and over 9 GW of solar cell capacity in 2025, according to Mercom India’s State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 2026 report. Demand from India’s large utility-scale solar project pipeline, residential rooftop targets, the PM Surya Ghar program, and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers List-II domestic cell mandate drove the manufacturing expansion.
