The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has installed 3.5 MW of rooftop solar capacity across 415 government schools under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) program.

Out of the total installations, Eshaan Energy completed 1.05 MW of capacity across 113 government schools in six districts, under the jurisdictions of three electricity distribution companies, within 99 days.

The rooftop systems are expected to reduce the schools’ grid electricity consumption and related expenses by about 55%. Before the installations, the schools collectively consumed approximately 4,000 units of electricity, although the reporting period for this figure was not specified.

The systems use RenewSys solar modules and Polycab inverters, cables, and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride components.

Executing the project across 113 geographically dispersed schools created logistical and site-specific challenges. Several buildings lacked direct terrace access, while roof conditions and installation requirements varied across locations.

The project team coordinated the deployment of the workforce and materials across the six districts to meet the 99-day schedule. It also tweaked installation plans to suit the conditions at each school.

The installations support the PM SHRI program’s objective of developing sustainable school infrastructure. The solar systems will help the schools reduce recurring electricity expenses and increase their use of renewable energy.

Eshaan Energy had earlier commissioned a 100 kW rooftop solar power system at the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, to reduce the institution’s electricity costs, improve energy sustainability, and lower its carbon footprint.

In December 2025, Eshaan Energy executed a 650 kW rooftop solar installation for Krishna Milk Union at its plant in Veeravalli, Krishna District. Eshaan Energy had also installed a 750 kW shed-mounted solar system for Prakasa Spectro Cast in Enikepadu, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.
