As India’s clean energy sector enters its next phase of growth, capital markets are emerging as a critical source of financing. Renewable energy developers, EPC companies, manufacturers, and other industry participants are increasingly tapping public markets to fund expansion, manufacturing capacity, and large-scale project development.

While public markets have emerged as an important source of capital, clean energy companies are also seeing greater access to financing from government-owned and private financial institutions. As investor confidence in the sector grows, lenders are increasingly backing renewable energy projects, manufacturing facilities, and infrastructure investments. The expanding pool of debt and equity capital is playing a critical role in supporting India’s clean energy transition.

Clean energy financing will be one of the key themes of discussion at the Mercom India Renewables Summit, to be held on July 1 and 2, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi. A panel discussion titled ‘Public Markets and Private Capital: Funding the Clean Energy Scale-Up’ will be held as part of the Summit on July 2 (Day 2 of the Event) at 4:20 PM. The session will feature Joshit Ranjan Sikidar, Director (Finance) at Solar Energy Corporation of India, Sridhar Narayan, Founder/Managing Partner, South Asia at GEF Capital Partners; Sumit Kishore, Managing Director, Institutional Equities Business at Axis Capital; and Akhil Jain, Partner at Fullerton Fund Management.

This session will cover how investment trends and valuations across the renewable energy sector are being influenced by green initial public offerings (IPOs), strategic equity raises, infrastructure funds, and sovereign capital.

This session will explore how green IPOs, strategic equity raises, infrastructure funds, sovereign capital, and other financing mechanisms are shaping investment trends and valuations across the renewable energy sector.

Panelists will discuss investor expectations, risk perception, balance sheet discipline, regulatory certainty, and capital structuring, while examining how renewable energy companies can attract and deploy long-term, cost-competitive capital to support growth.

Mercom India’s flagship annual event brings together industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss the trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping India’s clean energy transition. Through data-driven discussions and industry insights, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the forces influencing renewable energy deployment, investment, and market development.

For the first time, the Summit will feature dedicated workshops and focused discussions addressing practical challenges across manufacturing, workforce development, project procurement, and financing.

The 2026 Summit will also feature the sixth Mercom India Awards and the Renewable Energy Exhibition.
