UPERC allows solar developers to execute 20.2 MW projects under SPVs

Developers are accelerating project commissioning ahead of the December 31, 2026, Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II exemption deadline, tightening module supply and pushing up project costs. Industry executives say the rush to procure in the coming months could tighten TOPCon module availability and place additional pressure on already constrained domestic cell supply.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) allowed solar project developers to execute 20.2 MW of projects under Component C-2 of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan program through special purpose vehicles (SPVs).

UPERC Commission approved 14 power purchase agreements for 31 MW of solar projects under the feeder-level solarization program of the PM-KUSUM. The Commission also adopted the tariffs discovered through competitive bidding. The tariffs range from ₹2.87 ($0.0301)/kWh to ₹2.99 ($0.0313)/kWh.

The Karnataka Power Corporation invited bids for consultancy services to prepare a detailed project report for the 2,500 MW Varahi pumped storage project. Bids must be submitted by August 17, 2026. Bids will be opened on August 27.

PFC Consulting invited bids to establish an intrastate transmission system for the development of a 220/132 kV substation at Rajouri-II and Akhnoor-II in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The last date to submit bids is October 16, 2026. Bids will open the same day.

Haryana-based solar module manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy reported a revenue of ₹5.11 billion (~$53.56 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year 2027, a 44.2% year-over-year (YoY) decrease compared to ₹9.16 billion (~$96 million).

Energy storage company Stem’s revenue fell 12.3% YoY to $33.65 million in Q2 of 2026 compared with $38.37 million, missing analysts’ estimates by $2.99 million. The company attributed the revenue decline to lower battery hardware resales and managed services revenue.
