A packaging unit of Senores Pharmaceuticals has reduced its electricity expenditure by 70-80% by installing a 130.98 kW rooftop solar project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Senores Pharmaceuticals is a global, research-driven pharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures a wide range of pharmaceutical products, predominantly for the U.S., Canada, across various therapeutic areas and dosage forms.

The project is expected to yield savings of ₹110,000 (~$1,191.61) per month and an estimated ₹1.3 million (~$14,299.3) annually.

Malibu Renewables commissioned the rooftop system in January 2026 within a span of 15 days.

The solar system comprises Waaree Energies’ 590 Wp framed TOPCon dual-glass bifacial modules coupled with Polycab’s 125 kW inverter.

The system is expected to generate 550 units daily and 16,506 units every month.

As part of a turnkey service, Malibu Renewables also installed a monkey ladder for future rooftop access.

The project is expected to have a payback of 2.5 years.

The company may plan the expansion of the rooftop system based on its increase in power consumption.

Harshil Soni, Project Manager at Senores Pharmaceuticals, said that it had set a target of commissioning the project within 30 days, and that Malibu Renewables completed it within 15 days.

Commercial and industrial units are increasingly installing solar systems to leverage unused rooftop space and benefit from low power procurement costs.

In March 2025, Malibu installed a 450-kW rooftop solar project for Gujarat-based fabric manufacturer, Prem Industries. The project yields savings of ₹4.2 million (~$46,297) annually and offers a payback of 2.5 years.

In August 2025, it installed a 1.2 MW rooftop solar project for fabric manufacturer PeeGee Fabrics, enabling the company to meet 30% of its power needs.

Mercom India hosts a pan-India ‘C&I Clean Energy Meet’ series, bringing renewable energy developers and commercial and industrial power consumers together to discuss options for adopting renewable energy. The next event will be held in Mumbai on April 16, 2026.
