					</table><p>Rooftop solar is gaining traction among commercial and industrial consumers as businesses look to use existing factory space to cut electricity costs and reduce dependence on grid power.</p>
<p>Germany-based KHS Machinery (<a href="https://www.khs.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KHS Group</a>), an industrial equipment manufacturer, is expected to save ₹7.7 million (~$80,726.8) annually after installing a 750.2 kW rooftop solar project at its facility in Nandej, Gujarat.</p>
<p>KHS manufactures filling and packaging systems for the beverage industry.</p>
<p>The company now meets 60-65% of its power needs through the rooftop solar system.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar project is expected to generate nearly 1.1 million units of electricity annually, with average daily and monthly generation of approximately 3,000 kWh and 90,000 kWh, respectively.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar system is expected to yield a payback within three years.</p>
<p>The project was commissioned by Gujarat-based rooftop installer, <a href="https://www.maliburenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Malibu Renewables,</a> in February 2026.</p>
<p>The rooftop system uses <a href="https://rayzonsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rayzon Solar</a>’s 550 Wp Mono PERC bifacial solar modules and five units of 125 kW <a href="https://polycab.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polycab&#8217;s</a> inverters.</p>
<p>KHS Machinery opted for a rooftop solar installation as it enabled the company to use its existing infrastructure without the necessity of using additional land.</p>
<p>The company said it plans to expand its rooftop solar capacity and might evaluate installing a battery energy storage system if current solar generation does not meet its needs.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables, which executed the project, said the installation presented engineering challenges as it was carried out on an exposed truss structure. The project required installation on column-less structures and the erection of floating walkways to ensure no additional weight was added to the roof.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/fabric-manufacturer-g-m-syntex-saves-%E2%82%B940-million-annually-by-going-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 3 MW rooftop solar project for Maharashtra-based textile fabric manufacturer G.M. Syntex in February this year.</p>

					</table><p>Large commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) consumers are increasingly turning to solar power to meet sustainability goals and reduce their electricity expenditure. Businesses with continuous power demand can achieve significant savings by utilizing unused rooftop space for solar installations.</p>
<p>Maharashtra-based textile fabric manufacturer <a href="https://gmsyntex.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">G.M. Syntex</a> is saving approximately ₹40 million (~$420,248) annually after installing a 3 MW rooftop solar project. The installation is yielding savings of around ₹3.3 million (~$34,671) every month.</p>
<p>Spread over 1.2 million square feet, the G.M. Syntex factory is located in MIDC Tarapur, Palghar, in Maharashtra. The company manufactures home textile fabrics using natural, recycled, and man-made yarns, and offers large-scale fabric dyeing, printing, embroidery, weaving, finishing, packaging, and related textile processing services</p>
<p>Through the rooftop solar system, the company is meeting around 30% of its power requirement with solar energy. The company relies on solar power during the day to reduce electricity costs.</p>
<p>Maharashtra is among the states with the highest grid tariffs, making rooftop solar an attractive option for C&amp;I consumers.</p>
<p>Gujarat-based <a href="https://maliburenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Malibu Renewables</a> commissioned the project in February 2026, completing it within three months.</p>
<p>The rooftop system uses <a href="https://rayzonsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rayzon Solar</a>’s 550 Wp mono PERC modules, coupled with 20 units of <a href="https://polycab.com/product-brochures/solar-brochures">Polycab</a>’s inverters.</p>
<p>The system is designed to generate around 330,000 units of electricity per month, or approximately 3.96 million units annually.</p>
<p>The rooftop project is expected to achieve payback within 3.5 years.</p>
<p>G.M. Syntex also plans to install rooftop solar systems at its other factories.</p>
<p>According to Mercom India Research’s Q4 &amp; Annual 2025 India Rooftop Solar Market Report, Maharashtra <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rooftop-solar-growth-accelerates-in-india-with-7-1-gw-added-in-2025-a-123-yoy-jump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">led </a>rooftop solar capacity additions in 2025, accounting for 16% of total additions.</p>
<p>Cumulatively, the C&amp;I segment accounted for 23% of rooftop solar capacity added during the year.</p>

Fabric Manufacturer G.M. Syntex Saves ₹40 Million Annually by Going Solar

					</table><p>A packaging unit of <a href="https://www.espeeusa.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Espee Global Clinical Trial Services </a>has reduced its electricity expenditure by 70-80% by installing a 130.98 kW rooftop solar project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.</p>
<p>Espee Global Clinical Trial Services is a global specialty distributor and service provider supporting research and development, clinical trials, and bioequivalence studies for pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, and government bodies.</p>
<p>The project is expected to yield savings of ₹110,000 (~$1,191.61) per month and an estimated ₹1.3 million (~$14,299.3) annually.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables commissioned the rooftop system in January 2026 within a span of 15 days.</p>
<p>The solar system comprises <a href="https://waaree.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Waaree Energies’</a> 590 Wp framed TOPCon dual-glass bifacial modules coupled with <a href="https://polycab.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polycab</a>’s 125 kW inverter.</p>
<p>The system is expected to generate 550 units daily and 16,506 units every month.</p>
<p>As part of a turnkey service, Malibu Renewables also installed a monkey ladder for future rooftop access.</p>
<p>The project is expected to have a payback of 2.5 years.</p>
<p>The company may plan the expansion of the rooftop system based on its increase in power consumption.</p>
<p>Harshil Soni, Project Manager at Espee, said that it had set a target of commissioning the project within 30 days, and that Malibu Renewables completed it within 15 days.</p>
<p>Commercial and industrial units are increasingly installing solar systems to leverage unused rooftop space and benefit from low power procurement costs.</p>
<p>In March 2025, Malibu <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/gujarat-fabric-maker-expects-2-5-year-payback-with-450-kw-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">installed</a> a 450-kW rooftop solar project for Gujarat-based fabric manufacturer, Prem Industries. The project yields savings of ₹4.2 million (~$46,297) annually and offers a payback of 2.5 years.</p>
<p>In August 2025, it <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/peegee-fabrics-targets-%E2%82%B910-5-million-yearly-savings-through-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">installed</a> a 1.2 MW rooftop solar project for fabric manufacturer PeeGee Fabrics, enabling the company to meet 30% of its power needs.</p>

Pharma Packaging Unit Expects to Save ₹1.3 Million a Year from 130.98 kW Rooftop Project

					</table><p>A Gujarat-based fabric manufacturer, Prem Industries, expects to achieve a return on investment for its 450 kW rooftop solar project within just 2.5 years, demonstrating that commercial and industrial units can save substantially on power bills by adopting clean energy.</p>
<p>The Ahmedabad-based company, which installed a 450 kW rooftop solar project on its premises in March 2025, is saving ₹4.2 million (~$46,297) annually.</p>
<p>The project, commissioned by <a href="http://maliburenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Malibu Renewables</a>, now meets 10% of Prem Industries’ power needs.</p>
<p>The solar system utilizes <a href="https://rayzonsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rayzon Solar</a>’s 550 W Mono PERC modules, coupled with <a href="https://polycab.com/solar/c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polycab</a>’s 3 inverters of 110 kW each and one unit of 50 kW.</p>
<p>The rooftop system is expected to generate 54,166 kWh per month and 649,992 kWh per year.</p>
<p>The company plans to use solar power to reduce its overall power costs and improve operational resilience.</p>
<p>Prem Industries was incurring an annual expenditure of over ₹50 million (~$551,155) before installing the rooftop solar project.</p>
<p>Gurpreet Singh Dang, Partner at Prem Industries, said the primary driver of rooftop solar adoption was cost reduction. “Power costs constitute a significant portion of the company’s overall expenses, and lowering them gives businesses a competitive edge.”</p>
<p>He expects the rooftop solar project to pay itself back within 2.5 years.</p>
<p>Dang said that by transitioning to renewable energy, businesses can substantially offset their carbon footprint while strengthening their long-term operational resilience.</p>
<p>Malibu Renewables said ground-mounted projects were not considered in this phase due to the abundance of rooftop space. The option will be considered in the second phase.</p>
<p>The company plans to add another 750 kW rooftop solar capacity at its facility.</p>
<p>Saaket Parikh, Founder at Malibu Renewables, said that around 7,500 sq m of infrastructure upgrades are in the pipeline, which Malibu is taking up on a turnkey basis.</p>
<p>Parikh said that the expansion of rooftop capacity will enable Prem Industries to save approximately 1.08 million units of energy annually, amounting to savings of ₹7.07 million (~$77,933.3).</p>
